Other things:

• So, as well as there being no Once Upon A Time episode last Sunday, there's also no Grimm episode this week because it's Thanksgiving, I guess. And not only is there no episode next week, they're pretending they're putting on an extra episode of Grimm, when in fact they're just delaying next Friday's episode to the following Thursday. I mean, I'm not exactly desperate to see more Grimm, but I have really been doing my best to keep up with the episodes as they've aired and their schedule. AND NOW THIS. I assume that Once Upon A Time is on again this week, although who knows. And Death Valley has finished. So there's only really Once Upon A Time and Grimm that I watch at the moment, whenever they decide to be on. I knew was opening myself up to the whims of television when I decided to start downloading shows again. But I really didn't know that this was the game I was signing up to play. Dudes.



• Also, you know when you don't really have a pairing, but then suddenly two characters have a scene together or a bit of interaction that makes you think 'Yes, YES, that is amazing, I totally ship it', even though it's only very brief and they don't even interact together that much? And then it either gets blown apart or one of the characters dies? Looking back, I've realised that that has happened QUITE A LOT to me this year. I can't tell if I'm just easy for brief interaction, or I really do just pick doomed pairings. Or 'fandoms' that really don't seem to understand what they have. In fairness though, I've probably also gotten quite a few pairings this year that DIDN'T DIE. Still. I might do a meme. 30 days of Forced Into Ghostfic. So spoilery that no-one can read it. Hmm.



• I have been looking at Thor fic, and I quite like both the main characters and the fandom OTP and didn't have a pairing that nobody shipped, but now I have found one :D:D:D:D



• I'm really terrible at buying things I actually need. At this point, I need: a new winter coat, new trainers, new jeans, a new CD player, new bras, a copy of Microsoft Office I didn't copy from my mum's and whose temporary license isn't about to run out, and a new desk chair. Although the desk chair is still usable, and is possibly better for me, in the same way that you're supposed to watch TV sitting on a ball rather than a chair, because then you have to use your muscles to balance rather than just slumping into the frame of the chair. So maybe I'll leave that one for a bit. In terms of everything else, the chances that I will actually buy them are fairly slim.



• Except possibly a new coat, because it's that time of year again, and I love all the coats.

Pairing Picspam!

C.R.A.Z.Y.: Zac/Raymond

I am unusually up before noon today. Which does mean that I have the time to make this post, but I may also lapse into incoherence at some point. I'm very sorry if that happens.

Anyway. I should say that this is an incest pairing, so if you don't like that kind of thing you probably won't be interested. I was going to say that it was probably my favourite brother/brother incest pairing, but that was mostly because I couldn't think of any others I had, and then I remember the King brothers on Emmerdale and things got complicated. But Zac/Raymond is definitely right up there near the top, at the very least.

C.R.A.Z.Y. is a Canadian film, and a Quebecois film, so it's all in French. It's a family drama about a boy who grows up in the 60s and 70s and is pretty clearly probably gay, and how his family cope or fail to cope with that. It's actually quite a sad film in a lot of ways, a lot of it is about how his dad hates him for being gay, or hates that part of him, and he hates himself because of it. But a lot of it's quite funny too, and a lot of it is pretty beautiful. And it's got this storyline about the boy and one of his brothers running through it, which I quite love.

I'm slightly torn over which pairing to do next week. It's either going to be Daniel/Eli from There Will Be Blood or Louise/Jean from Female Agents. It sort of feels like I should get some women in at some point, but Louise/Jean is pretty much my main film femslash pairing, so it might be an idea not to get them out of the way too quickly. And Female Agents is the other main French-speaking film I love, and doing one after the other seems a bit odd. I don't know. I'll have to decide I guess.

I was also thinking about doing a pairing a week for three weeks, and then on each fourth week either just pimping a film I love with no real pairing in it, or without that being the main reason I love it, or posting about a non-film pairing I have. One has pictures, but the other has pairings. Decisions, decisions.

And hurrah, the next Futurama is the one with the worms! I love it so much. "This is my home! My ancestors came over on the Sandwich! I raised a cloud of children here!" :D

I had a plan to cook tonight. But on the other hand there is a cottage pie and ready-made salad in the fridge. So probably I'll actually do that. I'm not an expert on Adaptation and Appropriation yet. Woe.

I feel like I want to say something about the Avian Flu thing. I don't really know how I feel about it. When I see the papers saying things like 'AVIAN FLU', I don't care so much, but when people are on TV saying 'now, people really shouldn't panic...' I start to get worried. I try to reassure myself that flu epidemics, like the ones we're regularly supposed to have, usually mostly effect the very young or very old - except that I've got a one year old nephew with a dodgy chest, and a wobbly old grandma. So it's worrying me a bit. But probably it'll be one of those things like BSE and Foot and Mouth that mostly effect the farming industry and no-one else. Hopefully.

Anyway. It's Green Wing night tonight! That came round awfully quick again. Please to have another half-naked Mac and Guy wrestling scene please. With the same music. Oh, and I finally watched episode 2 of Life on Mars! WHY has no-one yet made any Sam or Gene 'For Great Justice!' icons? And possibly a Warren 'all your bases/witnesses are belong to us'? It is a SHAMEFUL crime. Shameful.

And I'm going to London! I'm going to see Have I Got News For You! I think! I need to look up train prices and things. And some nice person ::waves to them:: offered me a place to stay if I want to go to London to see Wicked. Which is nice. Actually...would anyone on here like to go see it with me? I'm thinking especially of people who I know have read and love the book. Just a thought.

Also: Elle just asked Toadie if he was okay, and BLATANTLY MEANT 'a gay'. FACT.
