Does anyone have any idea what they want to do after university? I used to have a vague idea that involved Mexico, a jeep and a crossbow - I'm not sure how or why - and other than that, I'm sort of drawing a blank. From what I've gathered through conversations with other people (read: Newcastle taxi drivers) that seems to be pretty much the norm for today's students though. We're the Aimless Procrastination Generation, apparently.

I watched the first four episodes of Stargate: Atlantis due to randomly picking up the DVD. Some thoughts )

I really feel like I want to get out of the house, since I haven't been, anywhere, apart from the supermarket and Leeds once. Sadly, if I'm going to actually DO anything, it probably ought to be uni work. An old school friend (whom I love) has called to ask if I want to go out with her and some others on Friday night, and I'm tempted because I haven't seen her in a year, and y'know, social shut-in. But there really is not much I hate more nowadays (or ever) than that bit at the end of one of those nights when they're all drunk, and I'm sober, and my feet hurt, and we've been in the same club dancing for 2 hours, and I just want to go home, but we can't till the club closes! And they kick us out! And we've waited half an hour in the rain for a taxi! Hence, I'm torn. Probably I will cry off and suggest cinema and pizza at a later date, perhaps.

Also, I've decided what Green Wing really needs is an old boarding school chum of Guy's to turn up, equally rich and broad and insensitive, with whom he can have proper hugely insecure, no-mercy-to-the-death, incredibly homoerotic contests and Guyball matches and probably some physical wrestling with, causing the girls/everyone to be all 'well, I suppose insensitive boarding school twats actually are quite attractive, when they're PRACTICALLY SHAGGING ON THE FLOOR OMG'. And about whom Mac will be all 'Oh, Guy's new friend? He's nice isn't he? I hate him', and jealously dragging Guy off on the back of his motorcycle to have astonishingly passive-aggressive arguments Guy doesn't completely understand.

Just a thought.

Went out for a fancy meal today, to celebrate my upcoming 21st. The fact it was Mother's Day was also a happy coincidence. I totally remembered to buy my mother a card and gift. Go me. After last night's crazy hour-theft I kind of forgot to get up more than 2 hours before we were due at the restaurant. Also I realised I'd forgotten to have any kind of outfit picked out to wear. Or in my wardrobe at all. However, a clean pair of jeans, nice top and mother's necklace later I was good to go. We picked up my grandmother, who off-handedly suggested she wouldn't live to see my next birthday, but not my sister and her father's baby - they decided to walk, and were half an hour late (as usual). And when they arrived, the combination of Jack being tired, being in a new place full of strangers and strange electro-sap music, and no-one coming to make a fuss of him because they were all so full of cold, meant he cried and screamed his way through the first 15 minutes, before throwing a bunch of things on the floor then falling asleep in his high-chair. But it was a nice meal, and a nice day, regardless. I remembered the restaurant was where I'd come for a reception to a wedding I was bridesmaid for when I was four. And apparently was a complete terror, and ran away, and ruined my loaned dress running around trees, and refused to do anymore wedding photographs after the first 400. Happy days. I was mostly left to my usual morbid sentimental thoughts about how I'd never be that young again, and couldn't really remember being that young now. And that by tomorrow morning, I'll have outlived my dad's younger brother. C'est la vie. The fact the beautiful view from the restaurant included the local crematorium probably didn't help with this.

Happy Mother's Day, by the way. To all mothers and mother-equivalents on my flist.

It turned out sister, as well as getting me the Goblet of Fire DVD, got me Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as well - which I got last week because it was £12.99 (cheaper than Amazon!) in Sainsbury's. And the receipt's in Nottingham. Whoops.

Anyway. Tomorrow we will apparently be celebrating my birthday with the amazing outing of Going To The Supermarket/Town. And picking me out a nice diamond necklace from the local Argos. Not that I'm complaining. I could probably do with calling my best friend from home, and maybe going out for a drink. The other best friend is going to France for two weeks - cheek of her! I plan to convert her to The Mighty Boosh when she gets back. Unless it turns out she's already converted. In which case I will just weep with joy.

Discovery of the day: There is an Emmerdale Message Board. Complete with character wars and wank. I still can't quite believe it. But apparently Spoilers )

And someone has actually written fanfiction including Matthew/Carl. Except that it makes my eyes burn to read it. And this is what I mean about slash being 'emotional porn', at least partly, because I don't consider this slash. Not even with all the gay sex and 8 and half inch cocks. This isn't even badfic, with the 'golden demi-god swooning into the arms of his cerulean-eyed lover, !11'. It's not even pretending to have characterisation. It's just porn. And that's where I draw the line, I suppose. Though other people will probably disagree.

The weekend )

In fandom news:

  • Those of you on my flist (::waves to [livejournal.com profile] aegflota::) who thought the guy who played Dan in Nathan Barley (aka Julian Barratt) was totally gorgeous will be pleased to hear he is back on TV tonight in the first of the second season of The Mighty Boosh. And may have to mate with the Yeti. It looks quite amusing, and probably I'll watch it anyway.

  • And, after deciding that it was so much hassle getting American Gothic on DVD in the first place there was no chance of getting a Region 2 release, I was delighted to learn from my film mags that it will be out on March 20th :D ::dances for it::

  • My Empire magazine also did a little piece on the upcoming best film of 2006, Snakes on a Plane. I have no words. Just incoherent glee :D

Dylan Moran is playing in Nottingham in June. I feel that I should go, since I have often kicked myself for not going to see Monster. But hmmm. Money. Hmm.

Apparently I have to start deciding what I want for my 21st birthday. Which can't just be a gift certificate for HMV, sadly. But is not going to be a gold watch, tradition be damned. Hmm.

::goes off to check flist::
girlofprey: (HP Secretlybitter!Dumbledore)
Dear [livejournal.com profile] nerdcakes,

Possibly you already know, but there are brand new Wicked femslash fics, or possibly one long 10-part femslash fic, here. And they seem well-written and everything. Hurrah.

Dear [livejournal.com profile] lilith_morgana,

I wasn't sure if you were still interested after it after seeing the movie, but I actually found a fic somewhere on livejournal that was at least heading in a barty crouch jr/Rita skeeter wrong!sex direction, before she comes to her senses and gets the fuck out of there. I was going to offer you the url, but I sadly can't find it. So I offer a secretlybitter!Dumbledore icon instead. Hurrah?

And having seen the film for the third time last night (for FREE! God bless the radio press pass, and all the abuse possibilities therein), I am mostly squeeing over the idea of all the Durmstrang boys on their ship, adjusting each other's dress robes :D And being watched over, creepily I'm sure, by creepy creepy Karkaroff. And the clear shot of three girls who according to their scarves are gryffindor, hufflepuff and slytherin, happily chatting away together - Slyths are not universally hated, omg!

All of which was much less disturbing than the man in Burger King (it was late and I was hungry, okay?) who was in the ladies bathroom for ages and didn't come out, even when a man in a suit and tie hammered on the door, and the girl on the bus home from the cinema who, from what her boyfriend/male companion was saying was completely wasted on three glasses of wine (and perhaps something else?), and went from not being able to walk in a straight line to slightly comatose throwing up and had to be carried off the bus to the hospital. Yes.
girlofprey: (Firefly Genius Child)
Hmm. Tired. Film festival thing went less well than I might have hoped - when I got to the front desk and said my name and that I would be on the guest list, they told there was no guest list - ! Then they asked me who I talked to to arrange it - I talked to the girl who runs our show, Uncovered, who talked to the press officer, who talked to whoever arranged it properly. But the cinema marketing manager gave me a couple of free tickets to some shows anyway, and her e-mail, asking me to send her whatever I did on the festival, which I think will be nothing now because it's finished and we like to cover things people can actually still go see. Sigh.

Also we had organised an interview with the festival president, which he was thankfully aware of - but when I rang up at the agreed time (10 o'clock-ish), he was in his hotel room! Which was just around the corner apparently. He asked me if I wanted to come to his hotel/room to do it - no - or for him to come back to the cinema - not for a 2 minute interview, no - so that was a big flop. We rescheduled it for the next day, but too late to put it in the show so I ended up cancelling. And then I woke up seriously ill with 'The Curse' (which has earned its name, let me tell you), so I couldn't even nip down to the studios to just do a 'I went to Resfest, and it was...' piece. Double sigh.

On the plus side, I appear to be completely free for next weekend though, for once. I am contemplating going home. I'd like to take my laptop back and do some stuff on the internet, but it might be awkward on a coach/train. Hmm. It might be nice to see the family/Jack though. And...have things bought for me rather than having to buy them.

Am still in a bit of a Goblet of Fire daze. To the point where I COULD NOT SLEEP until about 2 o'clock this morning because ideas and such were whizzing around my head. Mentions of characters names and such. )And maybe some other stuff )

I really can't wait for the GoF DVD. 3 DAYS after the opening weekend. I got it bad.

Also, I had a bit of an icon clearout. See the pretty shiny new ones! Some of them had uploading problems, and one inexplicably turned into Mischa Barton, but they seem to be mostly alright. Now.
girlofprey: (Slytherin Princess)
I went to see Harry Potter! :D

SPOILERS )
girlofprey: (ASOUE One Man (and his Dog))
Midnight showing of Harry Potter tonight. Plan to get more sleep than usual last night completely failed due to having presentation to plan, mother calling as usual, and making comments that led to bad dreams about Katie and Jack. Also Faith and Buffy were there in mime make-up. And Draco was incorporeal and freaking out about it. Hmm. But thinking 'have to sleep' tends to make me not sleep anyway, so probably can't blame mum too much.

I and my fellow HP-goers decided that rather than get a bus at 11 o'clock at night on my own, I should get a bus at 8/9 o'clock - when it's still going to be dark - and hang out at one of their houses, which is on the other side of a scary, scary bridge. Hm.

Am still slightly worrying about getting a taxi back all the way to Beeston, on my own, at 4 o'clock in the morning, but don't really have much of an option at this point. Unless I somehow cunningly secrete myself in the cinema, and get a very early bus back. Hmm.

Presentation is in 3 and a half hours. But as far as I can tell it's not going to be that much different from what I normally do in seminars, only slightly more coherent and all at once. I have vague notes scribbled on a piece of paper. I trust them to carry me through. Our tutor usually leaves the presentations until the end of the seminar, anyway - as in literally 'we have one minute left, do you have anything to say anyone else hasn't already said?'. So am not too worried. And then am free for the week - until Friday. When I have to review a local film festival, and the boy who suggested it/pushed for it has dropped out. I fear for my brain this weekend. Also I might not get anywhere near a computer.

Chips are nice.

Being handed them in a box and not offered ketchup, less so.

Hmph.
girlofprey: (Zaphod Like Those Jammies)
Went to see Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. Which is very, very good and funny, and Robert Downey Jr=yay! And of course, Val Kilmer as gay private detective also=yay! And the fact that they kiss onscreen very much=yay! However, Robert Downey Jr is depressingly convincing as a straight person. Hmph. I could probably read slash for it, but can't see it myself. Although they did have a very sweet ending - Spoiler )

This week we appear to be all set for the HP midnight showing, omg yay. Am actually quite excited now. Seeing it before almost everyone else, without being surrounded by kids (hopefully). Does not quite compute. The show 'manager' has booked the tickets. Today she is going to get the tickets. If she loses the tickets, I will cry.

I have lots of work to do for this week before that though.

Also, I am rubbish at not spending money, and at eating healthily. Unless chips and gravy and a bowl of peas counts as a nutritious main meal. Which it doesn't.

Can someone please explain to me about 'all your [xxx] are belong to us'/'for great justice!'? Because it makes me laugh and I don't know why. I'm thinking Terry Prachett. Help? In small writing?
girlofprey: (Anton Know Thyself)
I have signed up for far too many things at the radio again.

One of these is a midnight showing of Harry Potter next Thursday, if we can get tickets.

I'm actually quite looking forward to this though. It is probably going to be a group outing, and we will be recording it on minidisc and interviewing all the other non-reviewy people who turned out to watch Harry Potter at midnight. I have never been to a midnight showing before. And even though I spent the last Harry Potter film experience sitting thinking '...is this it?', this one looks quite good. In the adverts at least. Still feeling no shame that I haven't read any of the books but the latest one. Nope.

Another thing I agreed to do is a review of film I have not seen yet for tomorrow. When I really ought to be reading more Ovid.

::is sad no-one supports my idea for a Metamorphoses-based all-girl crime-fighting posse. Sadface fullstop::

And I still love Nathan Barley, and none of you can stop me, hah! Though words are sadly not forthcoming.

In other news: my parents gave me money. Apparently I 'ground them down', in that I 'took advantage of their much-professed offer to give me all the money I needed'. But I have vague money. Yay.

Christmas is coming. Omg.
girlofprey: (DW editor)
I have been doing things. Proper things and everything.

Went to see a play last night with flatmates - 'The Burial at Thebes' at the Playhouse, aka 'Antigone', in the proper Greek stylee, with a chorus and dancing and everything. The main girl (aka Antigone) was a bit shouty more than acty, which ruined it a bit, but wore quite a pretty dress. And there was a nice young man who was a much better actor than her, so all was good. I bought a programme despite a lack of money. Ooh, and we actually saw Seamus Heaney (the translator/poet) at the bar, with his crazy white hair and glasses. Star-spotting is always a plus at these sort of things.

Afterwards we all popped into a bar to see beloved ex-flatmate Graeme, and found out a boy I used to go to college and do Further Maths with, for a very brief period, is now at Nottingham and hangs out a lot in said campus bar. He used to not turn up to classes and insult all the teachers and still get 80-90-100% on tests. And tell us all about the girls he was shagging (even the fourteen year-olds), and how he outran the police once in a mini (possibly a lie). I was not hugely fond of him. He told me all about what he'd been doing since university, and how he came to Nottingham, and how well he was doing on his tests. At length. Even when I tried to talk to my flatmates. He mentioned me possibly coming with him on nights out sometime, and asked for my number. I sadly mistyped it. Ah well.

Also have been reading more Metamorphoses for uni. And am sorely tempted to put together my own League of Extraordinary Gentlemen-style all-girl Ancient Greek posse. Mestra, the shapeshifter! Cassandra, the seer! Atalanta, the fast one! Coming together to fight crime, and have hilarious run-ins with their godly ex-boyfriends/rapists, and, y'know, hang out in the woods shooting boars and such. Medea's Angels? Hmm.

And I have been watching Nathan Barley. And I have decided it is not rubbish at all, and I love it. Love it more than you. Any of you. Spoilers )

I really quite love this show.

:)

I made new icons. New text icons. I have made icons I have dreamed of making for months, and mostly for their sake bemoaned my inability to put text on icons. I'm not entirely sure you can read the text. I can. I don't know how they'll look on your computers. But yay! I MADE THE ICONS. My dream is come true. Probably you won't understand them if you haven't seen the Lemony Snicket movie, or listened to the Smiths. But I made them. Here they are:

I prefer Violet's face on the first her one - but I think you can actually read the text on the second. Perhaps I'll make a new one for her. But eeee. Happy :)

Total Film reached new heights of bastardy today. Much like Empire, they had a choice of covers. 3 covers. All were Narnia. The one with the queen was prettiest. It had swords. But then they put the mag in a plastic bag so you could not see which one you were buying! Arses! But I bought one anyway, and have ripped the bag a bit, and I got the Queen one! I beat the system! Yay :D

Damien Lewis is on TV next week. He is in a Shakespeare play thing. Yay. I am hoping for slash. But his red-headed loveliness will be enough. Urge to buy Forsyte Saga boxset rising....

I have reading week next week. I could go visit the House o' Pink. I have been semi-invited. But I have been rather ruthlessly stolen by my radio show. And I'm going to see a play. Bought tickets and everything. And - yes. They are in London at the moment and can't get me about it, HA!

I am torn between watching the HIGNFY they will be in the audience for tomorrow or going to see a play by a young Russian playwright. I do see a little of my insane love for Night Watch in the desire to go see this play. I am possibly sort of expecting Anton to be in the lead role. Although I loved Russia and Russian things long before Night Watch. I could go see the play on Saturday. And go to bonfires/fireworks slightly later. Hmm.

This was meant to be a short post.

Hello!

girlofprey: (Anton Gloom)
Wheee, my parents came down yesterday. We did not do very much that was glorious, just went round the town and for coffee and pizza and such. But they bought me a necklace and a book and some halloween chocolate from Marks and Spencer's. I feel like one of those bored, intellectual princesses you see in films. Yay. And we went to see Wallace and Grommit/The Curse of the Wererabbit. I like Grommit. I preferred the one with the sheep and evil robot. Yes. Got home very late, read until even later, and then completely STOLE an hour from time, so I got to to stay up even later! Oh yes ::skillz::

Parents also brought new family drama. Those easily upset/who just plain don't care, look away now. Drama! )

I have random spots all over one of my hands. Possibly I will go see the doctor. Hmmm.

Ooh, I watched QI. Stephen so blatantly wants to go to Belgium with Alan to see the carrot museum. And to Canada to see the lakes. Verycoldskinnydipping!fic? Perhaps. Although Alan woul probably mostly hang back and be all 'yeah. wow.', and enjoy the parts in the hotel room most of all. Yes.

A new person has turned up on [livejournal.com profile] slashysouls! Our numbers grow every day! And if [livejournal.com profile] jekesta would at least watch the DVD I so kindly lent her, she could have an opinion on it all. But apparently not!

Reading more Lemony Snicket. I like Lemony Snicket. It confuses the hell out of me :)

Wanadoo still being complete wankers - apparently it's in the terms and conditions that we can't cancel the contract just because the wirelessness doesn't work. W. t. f?

And some more Night Watch talk )
girlofprey: (Draco Slytherin Revolution)
  • Rachael is doing a slightly foolish amount of blogging for someone who doesn't have the Internet in her own house.

  • Rachael's house recieved a package of 'start your own wireless internet!' kit this morning though, and the line is being enabled on Monday, so she will have it soon (or at least, as soon after that as it takes two English and one Art student to figure out the manual)

  • Rachael went to see Serenity last night, omg yay! It's essentially like an extended episode, on a huge screen, and slightly more traumatising than usual, but it is good. River my new girlfriend. Mal/River=OTP of Broken. Yes.

  • If [livejournal.com profile] katemonkey has dyed red hair, then I saaaaw youuuu....:P

  • The Showcase cinemas have truly pitiful bags of Maltesers.

  • My flatmates convinced me to go out dancing to a punk/indie club, and now I'm slightly afraid my brain has come loose ::frets::

  • I burnt my finger from investigatively putting my finger on a hob. A hot hot hob. Ouch :(

  • I slept till 12 o'clock today, yay! :D
girlofprey: (BTVS Sunday You suck)
I have been out. I had truly forgotten how much I HATE to be out. Omg.

Well, I don't HATE it. I like seeing my friends, and fun things happen. But with this particular group of friends it is mostly sitting around while they get very pissed and have conversations about things that happened in Manchester, or drinking, or clothes. Which I can only hear half of anyway, because music is too loud!! Last night I went out with another friend and a huge group of people I didn't even know, and we just sat in a pub, and talked, and I enjoyed it so much the more. Tonight all I could mostly think of was getting home to watch The Third Man (when I told my museum manager I had bought it, partially on his recommendation, he GAVE me the £6 it cost. He's so nice!), or write some Emmerdale pr0n. Sigh.

Heh. I looked up 'emmerdale carl king slash' on Virgin (out of vague hope), and on the first page of results was this journal :) I'm like an authority on the subject. But seriously: every member of the King family is having sex with every other at the moment. Like, dude. Omg. Tom and Max are having unwittingly-emotionally-abusive sex, Max and Carl are having lovely comfort sex, Jimmy and Matthew (yack!) are just having we-are-evil-and-slimy-ahahaha sex, and Matthew and Carl are having really dirty kinky sex, with handcuffs and gags and things, but that just happens all the time really. Hmm.

There was a Continental Market in my little town today. I had some Morrocan pastries. They claimed to have honey in them, which meant they were dripping with it, and one was full of almonds and not very tasty. I got a bit confused about what the weight would be, and ended up spending £4.80. And then had to throw half of them away, because they were just too almondy and too much. Whoops.

I really want to play Killer 7. And Crimson Butterfly. However, this would entail buying a Playstation 2, so I probably won't anytime soon. And it turns out the Elder Scrolls' Oblivion comes out on September 30th, rather than at Christmas, which WOULD be lovely if it wasn't practically the start of term when I will have exactly £0. Hmph.

And I am not amused by the news of the Green Wing DVD >:(
girlofprey: (R for raygun - sandintheglass)
Whee, am back! Two nights of partying later. Well, semi-partying and rain. I survive unscathed. Mostly. Hmm.

Adventures! )

Got up at 9, unlike the rest of them lazy losers. Tiptoed round for awhile - got dad to give me a lift home (:D) at 12. Whereupon I decided to round of the day with a trip to Leeds. Spend some money before I realised I'd got none. Hurrah!

Shopping! )

Things I shouldn't want:
  • The Wicked Musical tie-in. Because it is exactly the same as the Wicked on my shelf. Except for the pretty pictures....

  • The Hero graphic novel. Let's concentrate on the film first, hmm? Sigh.

Read some more of 1984 - halfway through now. Hurray for Julia, the life-loving ho! It's interesting that the Junior Anti-Sex League sash is red though. Like Little Red Riding Hood's cape. That the most sexually-charged colour (in general opinion, anyway, I think) is often used literarily as a sign of chastity. Or a warning against sexual desire, I guess. And that it's always associated with women - you never hear about the gentleman in red, or red male 'chastity garments'. Hmm.

I'll balance this objectification with a quote of wonder from marvellous Six Feet Under, however: 'A lady wears red, she means business' - :D
girlofprey: (R for raygun - sandintheglass)
Went to McDonald's with my cousin and her children. The oldest one scared me by being all tall and quiet and wearing a burberry cap, and asking about my ringtones. I do not like this strange, rabid hatred of 'chavs', but I hope he is not becoming one, or the real-life equivalent of one. Why can't he like rugby and poetry, or something? Also, McDonalds cheeseburgers are very small, but after all the crap I've been eating I dare not have anymore. Then I had a McFlurry :D. It was nice to see my cousins and - second cousins (sort of) - but we did not talk half as much as I'd wished :(

Made dinner for myself and mum tonight! Possibly the first time in a while anyone other than she has cooked, and she helped out anyway! Spanish Rice with Tuna - minus the chili peppers and olives (urgh) - although I overdid the salt a bit. I am not used to doubling it up for two people! And she has salt in a pot, not a shaker - what's that about? Then we watched Emmerdale - is it just me, or are Karl and Matthew King having hot gay brothersex? Possibly just me.

Have been snooping around collecting pretty icons as well - damn my limited icon space! But I do not just have $35, or the English pound equivalent. Not without giving up DVDs or possibly an umbrella for which money is reserved. Growl.

Went out with my friends tonight though! Dressed up all pretty, with fancy new perfume and low low top. Much mention was made of my breastage. I was very, very pleased annoyed pleased :). Continued to feel a little out of place with my non-drinking ways, but they would not keep asking me out if they did not enjoy my company. Possibly it is my own boredom that feels like shunnedness. Cannot get the hang of this 'group chat' thing. Came home early for Leeds tomorrow though, and the possible spending of money if HMV manages to seduce me with its wares....
girlofprey: (R for raygun - sandintheglass)
Brrr, it is cold. And rainy. Hopefully it is just gathering sunny strength for tomorrow :)

My friend Katy is so lovely. We watched Shaun of the Dead (omg Shaun/Pete OTP!) and Pulp Fiction, which was good, but maybe a little too cool - I couldn't really get into it. Bruce Willis was good though. And Tim Roth :). Then we ate chocolate muffins and biscuits and watched TV till late into the night. She gave me an Easter Egg from Thorntons with 'Happy Birthday Rachael' on it - my name spelt right even! Omg! Possibly there will be a Monday night of drinking and Bombhead-spotting also. Yes.

New Empire and Total Film! All the signs are looking good for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but I still not holding out too much hope. The book will remain if the film is a flop after all ::is all zen and whatnot::. No mention of the Sea of Souls DVD release though (growl). But That 70s Show Season 1 is coming out in two weeks! Not that I will be able to afford it! DVDs, why do you taunt me?

Am contemplating getting a paid account and icon spaceage with my birthday money. 3 is not enough. I am not sure how much it will cost though, since it is all mad and in dollars. I think the exchange rate is quite good for us English types at the mo. Hmm. More thought perhaps...

Eee!! Katy gave me a copy of the Killers CD and the Kaiser Chiefs too!! ::loves her omg lots, and you should too!!::

Omg yay!

girlofprey: (R for raygun - sandintheglass)
Omg sunshine, yay! Last please ::crosses fingers::

My friends called back! ::Flails proudly:: So I will be going to see them tomorrow and Friday for DVDs and gossip (ooo). And then Saturday we might be doing something nice for my birthday (for once), and Sunday will be my birthday, and also Easter Sunday, and there will be chocolate and presents and money, oh my. So am happy. Today am going to Wakefield to see Constantine again, in the big Cineworld multiplex, which I miss. Independent cinemas are nice, but there's just something about a multiplex...perhaps the purse-raping snack prices....

Connotations posted in their LJ! Which means...something! Perhaps e-mails and confirmation-type things soon? Ack, that reminds me - need to get the money out of my post office account. But Connotations, yay! Also, I found Taxi biscuits in Home Bargains, what are looovely, with chocolate and caramel and wafer mmm, but not sold anymore for why? Not in proper supermarkets anyway, only Home Bargains type ones. Hmm.

Also, Trouble With Normal is on Paramount again - it are about 4 paranoid types in NYC and their madness/therapy adventures with their therapist Claire, and no-one else has ever seen it but me, and it is not a great show, but quite funny sometimes, and omg slashy, and there is a super-paranoid hacker type guy called Zach whom I ::loveslovesloves:: so yay. Sadly no Drop the Dead Donkey though :(. Fic ideas remain in the box ::closes the box::

In conclusion: Am quite happy, yes. Baby is not crying at all neither, and the sixth Lemony Snicket book is really interesting so far. And almost finished with the first Constantine 'novel', wherein a demon has already snogged him, and keeps talking about the time he had to 'chastise' him, and...yes. Happy :)
girlofprey: (John/Satan yay! - otherpictures)
Am back home :). Where the computer is in much demand, so possibly not so much LJing for a while no :(. Baby Jack continues to be lovely though - we have been watching MTV and dancing, and I sang him Wonderwall and he grabbed my finger and omg he looks like me!!! :D He is all huge now, and he is like a wriggle-monster when you try to hold him, but when not crying has big blue eyes and talks a bit even! and we're really quite pleased with him. Yes. :)

Had a looovely day yesterday, even before the home/babyness. I completely at random saw two of my old flatmates from last year, leading me to call the other old flatmate, and we 'did lunch' at in town by the river/canal. Well, we attempted to - the first bar had an hour-long wait for food, and the second was all out of food, and by the time we tried the third it was sort of cold so we ate inside. But I feel the intention stands. We had burgers and omg pudding! I had some mad thing which was chocolate sponge and chocolate sauce with chocolate sauce and caramel and BITS OF BELGIAN WAFFLE on top, and she had something that was a Jaffa cake pudding. I felt so ill, but didn't stop eating it :). Mm, tasty. We have agreed to go on picnics next term, and do many lovely things that involve talking to each other which we have not done so much of no ::shame::

Ooh, bought the Constantine comic book with money I don't have too! How much like Spike is he? Good lord. But it is good even if there random bolding. Am enjoying the fantasy demoniness. I eagerly await the bisexual sexualness. Yes.

Have to go see my grandma now to say sorry I missed your birthday and also your being is hospital briefly (she is fine, and was always) but here is a card, I love you, don't cut me out of the will and so on. And see her, of course. Bye!

Aha! strikethrough tag is fixed!! Except yes. Jekesta is still my fairy godmother, but one who challenged me to figure things out for myself, so even better yes :).Rich text editor was holding me back, like an octopus, omg.

I am in the university radio studio, doing a review of 'The Chorus' which all should go see omg, and checking my e-mail, and someone just called on the phone and expected me to know things omg. Leaving soon, I think, yes.

Enjoyed my dance thing last night! It was indeed two men dancing each other! It was set in a gay club, and one was all shy and nervous and newbie-like (but only LIKE....), and another was all confident and slightly scary and trying to seduce him, and there was touching and groping, and 'shy' one got all happy on ectasy, which I don't particularly think is good, but was pretty. But then the sad ending )

Going to see a wax forest now, omg, arty.
