I just watched the episode of Graham Norton that Hillary Clinton was on. I love her so much, she's so beautiful, she's so lovely and she cares so much. It's really sad what happened to her, but also just really amazing that she exists in the world.

Also now I really want a buddy movie starring Jeff Goldblum and Michael Keaton. I didn't watch all of that episode, but I did watch the important parts, and I think you'll find it would be amazing. It's a shame both of them are possibly twats in real life.

  1. Hillary Clinton was on the Graham Norton show.

  2. I have had enough with this too-warm October. Get cold! I hate the cold, but get cold! It is disgusting. Is this what my experience of global warming is going to be like, in my lifetime? Constantly wandering around in jumpers in the heat?

  3. I wanted to share a song with you because for a long I wasn't sure it actually existed, but it turns out it still doesn't exist in any way I can tangibly share. I first heard it when my dad would play it during his old mp3-downloading sessions, and I took the mp3 too, but eventually I wanted to redownload it and Google just didn't know what to tell me. It thought I meant the other Loveshack song. It didn't know who the singer, Anna Firmin, was. It didn't know about any of the lyrics. Today I googled a slightly different set of lyrics and discovered it was in fact a real song and there was even a Youtube video for it, but now the Youtube video is unavailable, and it turns out it was the original version by X anyway, and the version I actually mean covered by Anna Fermin is still nowhere to be found. You will just have to believe me that it's good. I would play it for you if I could.

I was going to share these other songs anyway, I'm not just trying to make it up to you.

I love Florence + The Machine.

I regularly think about this song whenever I think about being an angry feminist.

I genuinely think this is one of the best lovesongs ever written.

But anyway. As a palette cleanser from that - I don't think I ever made a New Year's post. What with being in Lancaster and the Red Death and all that. While I was at Jen's we held the Slash Awards 2016, which was quite a nice round up of the year. I would love to post the whole thing, but I'm just really tired, so essentially the results were:

Slashies 2016 (warning for an underage pairing, also lots of pictures and some blood) )

So. America have basically elected hell.

Didn't he criticise Hillary for her connections to Israel? I feel like I remember something like that. I know it doesn't matter, I know he's now hired a guy who was caught for installing a private internet service in his office when he wasn't supposed to, and a guy who was reprimanded for being irresponsible with confidential information and letting it leak to someone who wasn't supposed to see it, but aksdhjaskdjhakjd.

Other things:

  1. There's a lot of things human beings have done that are terrible. But I genuinely think bechamel sauce is one of the things we did right. Also barbeque sauce.

  2. I think one of the most invasive questions you can be asked is 'what are you reading?'.

I just don't have time for anything anymore.

I get up, and I usually have a few hours to myself in the morning. I have found that playing video games in the morning, when you are fresh and haven't been worrying about other things and are ready for adventure, is the best time to play video games, but even then three days out of the week I have less time for it because I need to have a shower and wash my hair. Then I go to work, and I essentially leave the house at 12 and don't get back till 8 - so, 8 hours. And that's when, so far, my trains have almost always worked out. By the time I get in my mum's usually timed dinner for then, but even by the time I've eaten and gotten changed it's like 9 o'clock, and then it's like "right, I have three hours to do EVERYTHING." Which is, all of the stuff I used to spend all day doing, and then anything else that's new that I actually need to do. And then, even though I don't always stick to the 12 o'clock bedtime, I really need to go to bed, so I can be up ready for work the next day, and not sleep in, and have time for a shower if I need one, and have time to play video games. And that is my day.

What I have been doing is reading comic books/graphic novels, and I have to say that it's as expensive as I thought it would be, and that DC is better than Marvel by a mile. I can't even believe it. The way people talk, I always assumed actual Marvel COMICS were the fun, light-hearted ones, but I read two and they were so full of angst and self-obsessed characters and CONSTANT WISE-CRACKING, THE WISE-CRACKING, I CAN'T TAKE IT. And then I read a Batman and Robin book - which was mostly about Dick Grayson and Jason Todd and all the other Robins - and it had an actual plot and a bad guy and they went after the bad guy and things happened and it was amazing. I super recommend it, by the way, it was Batman and Robin Eternal, but it's in 2 volumes and each of them cost about £30. I'm super into Dick Grayson though. All those Tumblr posts about him were not wrong. And also Jason Todd and Harper Row and Cassandra Cain, and I suspected I would like Midnighter, and then he turned up and he was great.

I went into town early today to get some new work trousers before my kickboxing class, and the way there my bus blew a tire, and then when I was in Marks and Spencers a woman knocked over a whole display stand and there was broken glass all over the floor, and it was like I was just surrounded by calamities. I did get an awesome hat and saw some donkeys though.

I kind of wanted to mention the other day, when the silent news in front of me was just epic and amazing and awful all day. The head of Intelligence in America quit, and UKIP have probably misused EU FUNDING, and Hillary Clinton spoke at a charity event and her hair looked sad and it was awful. The nihilistic part of me that just hates the UK and the whole world for all the choices it's making sort of enjoyed it (except for the Hillary Clinton part, her hair was genuinely emotional), sort of enjoys watching things burn, but also, omg. Wow.

I got thinking the other day about those hats Trump was wearing right up to before the election. The stupid "Make America Great Again" baseball caps, and his followers started wearing them as well, as though it was going to make them look cool. I was thinking that Hillary should have come out wearing a backwards baseball and a jacket that said something like "Hillz 2 pay the billz" to make fun of them. Then I decided I loved that mental image, and wanted to share it.

Periods, possible TMI )

I don't think I ever had a hero before Hillary Clinton.
