Gary, Gary, Gary. You are never going to get that shag out of David if you keep making cracks about his mother. And he'll never get to see your "new moves".

(I love tonight's Coronation Street. David caught Gary sneaking home, and first they went to the shed in Gary's garden where David used to hang out when Darryl lived there, and they confused each other about words that were made up of other words, and then David invited Gary round to his house 'for crisps', and they drank beer and talked about David's mum being in prison, and Gary being on the run from the army, and then argued, and then Gary made David give his word that he wouldn't mention having seen him, and then left, and David was laughing, but then looked kind of thoughtful. It was brill.)

Anyway. Ways in which administration has screwed me over slightly today:

  • I'm on a scheme at the Jobcentre which means I have extra appointments and see an advisor outside of my signing on appointments, which is apparently something they did on the old scheme, but Nottingham was on the new scheme, but at my local Jobcentre they're still on the old scheme, so I'm doing that. Or something. But basically I had my first appointment at the beginning of April/end of March, and I couldn't have another one until today at 10am because my advisor woman was doing a training course and going on holiday. But then on Saturday I got an envelope from the Jobcentre with just another appointment card, with the same woman, with an appointment on in for next Tuesday. Nothing else, nothing to say if today's one had been cancelled or why I'd gotten it. And it was the weekend, so I couldn't call the Jobcentre to check or anything. So I had to get up this morning, in time to possibly go to today's appointment, and call to ask if today's appointment was cancelled. Which it was. So I went back to bed.

  • My trials and tribulations with an electricity bill from my flat )

That is all the exciting things going on in my life, anyway. Apart from my dad having booked a holiday in Spain, near Barcelona, which I get to go on as well, in a few weeks time. Hurray.

I got a letter from the Council today saying I was late on my payment of Council Tax, which I haven't paid since the beginning of the year thanks to mostly being on Benefits, and needed to pay £80 within seven days of what I assume is the date on the letter, which would make Monday the last day I could pay on. Not the thing I really wanted to get the day before I'm meant to be going away for the weekend, and don't really have the money. Hmph.

Things I still need to do before going away: take dry clothes off clothes hanger, fold them and put them away (I hate folding clothes), and put wet clothes on to dry; try to work out my ISA to see if I can get money out of that for tomorrow to pay this bill; pack (shouldn't take long, I don't think I'll need much over the weekend); have a shower (need to pretty badly); get some sleep tonight; go and try to pay this bill tomorrow. Then I am all set, yay.

On a happier note, I know Iron Man is not everyone's thing, but oh my god, DELETED SCENE OF TONY/OBADIAH GLORY FROM THE END, WHICH IS STILL PRETTY SPOILERY FOR THE END OF THE FILM. But dude.

Hello. I've not been around much this week. That's mostly because on Monday I had to go Christmas shopping straight from work, on Tuesday I worked from 9 till 6.30, on Wednesday I worked from 8 till 10 (pm), and yesterday I went in to work at 9 and we said we'd stay until it was finished, which ended up being till about 6.30. But my job is finished now, because we did all the work so the quality checkers could do their last bits today.

So I have the day off. All I need to do is go see Jobseekers about my benefits claim and what information they actually want from me, go see my landlords about a repair I've been asking about, do a bit of Christmas shopping while I'm still in Nottingham, pay my electricity bill that just came yesterday, send off my Redemption cheque while I've got all the references with me, start my Christmas cards before the last post tomorrow, pack a bag and get a train to my parents'.

And I had thought about going to see Twilight before going back to my parents', because I don't think they'll be interested in going to see it with me.

Yep.

I went to see the new Al Pacino and John Leguizamo film last night, Righteous Kill. Oh I love John Leguizamo. He talks real fast and sometimes in Spanish. He was quite beautiful in it. Al Pacino was also there being beautiful. More beautiful than Robert De Niro. But I didn't think overall it was a great film.

I also saw some trailers. Max Payne looks amazing. If a bit confusing.

If I could afford it, I would buy everything from Threadless.

If not I would buy everything I could afford from Lucy Art.

If not, I would buy everything I could afford from Shanalogic.

If not, I would buy a sculpture from Walter Awlson. Specifically, the one on page 7 called Lauren. Or the Fallen Angel one. Or Emma. Whatevs.

But I can't, really.

Today I went to my landlords about the bills for the 'flat above' the shop next to me, which keep getting passed back through to us. Hopefully, they're actually going to get sorted out at some point.
