Anyway. I have not talked Connotations again. Yet. But I did finish almost all the filing! It's sad that that's my big news nowadays.

This weekend is starting to look like a bit much. Not only is the final Lemony Snicket book out on Friday (for which I plan to sneak out from work), but it's also when they've finally decided to release the Garth Merenghi DVD, so Play.com should send it for Saturday, and there's new QI, and Have I Got News For You is starting again. And I might not live. Locks and no LJ might be required to pull it off. I have faith in my utmost skills however. Sort of.

Speaking of which: Authortracker sent me vile videos for Lemony Snicket. One is a Bob Dylan rip-off, you know you want to see it. On the site I found out they're bringing out The Complete Lemony Snicket collection. The box is deeply beautiful, though the island is a bit of a Book the Thirteenth spoiler. But - there is a snake offering Violet an apple. Why must my fandom taunt me like this? What are they expecting me to think now? WHY MUST THEY MAKE ME HOPE?

But on the other hand, I think this SnickWiki illustration of the Hook-Handed Man is fug, and I do not believe it is canon.

You know what would be nice? A book allowance. From the Government and whatnot. Wherein you could just have one book - any book - a week, for free. It would work - you would wait for the beginning of each week to get another book, rather than buying 3 in one go and shoving them under the bed. Which I'm sure no-one anywhere does ::sets fire to under my bed:: Just a thought I had, in a bookshop just now. Contemplating petty theft.

Also, weather that would make up its bastard mind. Just pick a theme and stick with it. I wouldn't mind continuous rain in the winter. At least then you could buy a scuba suit and be done with it. Have a floor of your house that converted into a swimming pool. But no. We have to have the ever-changing miracle of weather. Hurrah. Another annoying thing is thinking you can't possibly write a 400-word film review of Sin City, and then getting started and writing 500. And walking to campus in the rain only to find the travel office has closed and you cannot get a coach ticket home for Friday. Growl.

But - I have finished Lemony Snicket, up to press! Except for the Unauthorised Biography but we ignore that! ( The Grim Grotto spoilers )

Omg the warm! What is this about? I ate an ice-cream yesterday! I am so disoriented I may need to lie down.

Yay, I am useless at doing reading! Am going home in 6 hours, for two weeks, and have pretty much no books of essay relevance. Possibly I should not have waited for the last day of term to try to get some - all that is left is the old crumbly ones. But I am thinking perhaps I will just have two weeks of homeness, seeing friends, birthday-joy, and sort-of thinking about what I want to do in my essays, but not doing any actual work on them. Possibly this is a plan inspired by laziness rather than smart thinking. I find I do not care.

Attempts to read Lemony Snicket 5 last night were interrupted by movie!plotbunnies dancing before my eyes. Growl. Am in that annoying mood of just wanting to race through the next few books to get to the hook-handed man bits, which is annoying because this book's actually really good. I <3 Violet. I may buy a violet ribbon for my hair, though it would essentially be tacked to my head as I have no long hair to tie up with it no. But still. Yes.

Am going into town now to spend money I don't have on comic books omg, rather than staying here and doing photocopying (I tell myself I can't afford it - this is how my brain ACTUALLY works) and reading stuff. Yes. Goodbye.
