...but much nicer things happened to me over the weekend. I went shopping on Friday, and actually managed to buy a new pair of smart black trousers, after about four years of wearing my sister's hand-me-downs, which continue to be and look fine, but they make my mother cry. But got lovely new ones in River Island, for only £20! And then a pair of lovely smart-casual trousers, which a snaky green belt, for only £25. And a lovely new pair of sunglasses, which actually look nice on me. It is very clear to me now that River Island is a thing of beauty and a joy forever, and should be treasured by everyone. Yes.

And today is Valentine's Day, which always turns out quite interesting for me. At least since I stopped mourning the pretty chocolate and realised i don't actually NEED a boy to buy it for me. Mark's and Spencer's heart 'mosaic', you will soon be mine. And given that i managed my not eating chocolate/sweets/nice things goal, I think I deserve it. Sadly, I do not think that there will be marvellous adventures tonight like there have been in previous years, like attempted dog-rescues and gay clubs - I like to think that buying nice chocolate and marvellous adventures are somehow cosmically linked - but....all my flatmates will be out, so i can rent some nice DVDs and sprawl out in the living room, yay! Amelie, perhaps, since I have not seen her yet. Perhaps followed up by something horrory and beautiful. hmm....

I need to make more lists. Clearly I do not make enough. And clearly there is no time like the present :)

Also I need the Internet in my room, but that will never happen now, and I must rely on uni computers. Growl. I'm sure I could insightfully ramble so much more than this. Sigh. I hate you, Ntl

Eeee!baby! )

Am back in Nottingham because I didn't pack many clothes, and all I was doing was basically waiting to go visit the baby in the evenings, and reading Adrian Mole (who is an Aries like me! And lives in the East Midlands! And loves books but doesn't read them properly! It's like reading about myself (except for the constant impregnating of women)). And he (the baby) is meant to be coming home on Friday, so I figured I'd get out of their way. Might go back in a week or two though, after Medieval exam.

Am attempting to organise life a little better this year (or even just this term).

Resolutions )

Things to think about for now:

  • Sorting out finances, what I can and can't spend
  • Getting a contract phone (or not)
  • Planning radio pieces for this term
  • Doing some research into extra-curricular activities I'd like to do
  • Revising for exam
  • Reading ahead for next term (thankfully, Richard III and A Tale of Two Cities look quite interesting)
  • Finishing Adrian Mole and the Weapons of Mass Destruction
