I hate that there are adverts in bus shelters now.
These are they, in case anyone's interested. There's sort of a story. We have a big courtyard outside the flat/s, and I want to put some plants in it. I asked my landlords, the company, and they are going to ask my actual landlord, who's on holiday. For another two weeks, they told me when I paid my rent, on the 30th of last month, about two weeks ago. I wasn't going to buy any plants or anything until I got the go-ahead, but I saw some outside a florist on my way to work and didn't know what the names were to buy them later, and when I went in after work I thought I may as well get some. The ones I saw had flowers, so I'm hoping the ones I got were actually the ones I was interested in. And then I saw the tray in the marketplace of where I'm now working, and thought they were quite pretty, so I may as well buy them too. So they're hiding out in my flat until I find out if I can actually put them outside in pots or not. Tell no-one.

These are Impatiens/Busy Lizzies, which I'm told grow pretty much no matter what happens to them. I like the red and white ones, and am interested to see what colour the other buds turn out to be.
Ignore any other potentially embarassing things you can see in my window bottom.

These are the ones I saw outside the florist. That picture is what they're supposed to look like when they flower. I'm pretty sure it's the ones I saw (flowering) outside the shop. Pretty sure.
They told me in the florist that the care instructions were on the tag. The tag says "Do not allow to dry out". I'm watering them and hoping I'm not either neglecting them or saturating them. Fingers crossed.
I've not been posting much because things have mostly been a mess of scheduling and attempting to plan. That Eden Project holiday in June is full up, so I was looking at how much/if I could sort something out myself. The cheapest way apparently involves spending 9 hours on a coach before and after the weekend. And I get a free walk with the wolves at the UK Wolf Conservation Trust thing I joined, which I wouldn't mind doing this summer, possibly with a guest if anyone I know is interested. And it turns out there's a Sea Life Centre in Birmingham, where there are also Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and I have a vague urge to pretend I'm underwater, so I wouldn't mind going there at some point. But my funds are running low again, so I might have to put all of that on hold for a while anyway.
In other news; My new bible. It's nice what turns up when you search for "Farscape Crichton Scorpius slash". Especially since Crichton/Scorpius slash doesn't tend to turn up.

Date: 2008-05-18 09:42 am (UTC)There are other things in the window-bottom that I'm not sure if you can see properly that might be considered embarassing. Ignore those. Though I'm kind of embarassed by the candles because I've had them for ages and not used them. Or got them out of the box. Anyway. I love my plants so much. My courtyard is concrete sadly, so digging a tunnel would be quite hard. Also I'm sort of not on the ground floor. If I can't have plants they're going to have to pretend they were always meant to be houseplants, and NEVER KNOW THE SUN. Hopefully my landlord will just say it's alright.
