Date: 2006-07-22 11:37 pm (UTC)Hello! Neverwhere, yes. I read and talked about it a bit ago. Well done on the gambit. It is one book (http://www.play.com/Books/Books/4-/888317/Neverwhere/Product.html), though it should clearly have numerous sequels, because many things are left unfinished, imho. It is also a tv series (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00004CSV2/202-0067337-4383847?v=glance&n=573398), but I prefer the book.
It is a bit strange. I am impressed by your sheer love of Angel, Islington though. Basically it's about the world 'below London' for people who have fallen through the cracks, where various puns take on lives of their own. A lot of it takes place on/around the Underground - there is an actual Earl's court on the train from Earl's court station, and they go to abandoned tube stops from times of yore. Angel Islington is an actual angel called Islington, though. They go and talk to him for various reasons, and he passes out wine and sings. I don't think there's a station involved.
They are not very complicated books, and rather good, if you don't mind that 'slightly unfinished' Neil Gaiman thing. I sort of assumed you knew/had read them, since they are so much about London! Nevertheless, I recommend them. You can probably get them from your library, if it is big and carries Gaiman.
This is all my help.
