Hello! 2006 randomness

I have been mostly not doing my Gothic essay. Am now three days over my 'deadline', and heading past the end of my wordcount, as usual. I'm even at the interesting bit, where I talk about homosexuality and how they're all actually gay, and still the words do not flow. Especially not when I need a critic's name suddenly and have to OMG, get up and go find it. But it's still coming along quite nicely, and possibly I'm just cutting and pasting critics' opinion in delightful patterns, but I'm still quite pleased with it. I think I have proved beyond all shadow of a doubt that Dracula and Harker and Mina and Lucy all have their own random gender inconsistencies, and should run away and live together by the sea. I might have left out the part about the house by the sea. But I think it's implied.
Gone With the Wind is on downstairs. I watched a bit while eating lunch. Now I want to make a film with random wide angle montage sequences, and melodramatic expositional text (SHERMAN!). I watched the bit with Scarlett and Melanie killing the Yankee as well. It's nice that, despite all the Oppression and everything, if you watch old films or read old literature, you can still often find great, strong, fun female characters, even if they do go a bit odd and shaded at the edges. Yes :) Also it occured to me that Craig/Wade is a bit like Scarlett/Rhett, really.

Except with Scottish accents instead of Deep South ones, of course.
Still blatantly in the Squee aftermath of Jekesta Knowing My Fandom (there should be a Sea of Souls/House of Leaves crossover! Craig in the House!). It is perhaps wrong that a mere two hours of television in which one of my OTP dies should give me such intense and apparently immortal joy. And yet I don't care :D
Spoilerific information about Sea of Souls Series Three episodes is here. Apparently they're doing six one-hour adventures now instead of three two-parters. That's BBC 1, 9:00 pm, January 7th. And eeee, Craig in danger! Craig unsure of himself! Craig with dangerous sexual obsession! For a WOMAN! That makes me laugh a little bit! Dead!Wade is going to be SO pissed off.

Possibly seeing as Wade is dead (although still haunting, obviously) and Locke is mysteriously gone away, the other man whose name I don't know, will have to fall in love with Craig and help him become unobssessed with the woman creature. I do not understand how Craig can work in isolation. I might watch other episodes to discover this possibly. Good.
Also, I don't think I've ever made anyone quite this happy by joining a fandom before, it's fabulous! ::hugs you much:: I feel all kind and lovely and all I have to do is to squee about the gay and be bounce, which I'd do even if there was not the making you happy aspect. It's very special.

Do you not remember Connotations, and the lost wandering around the hotel saying 'have you ever heard of...?' and the blank looks and MASS-MOCKAGE?? And all my other pairings tend to be based on obscure characters who are OTP for reasons known only to myself, through logic forged LATE IN THE LONELY NIGHT. But now people have seen it, and I know it's not just me, THE GAY IS WITH THEM, and I only expected it to be you, but you made songvids and now OTHER PEOPLE are all 'ooh, they're pretty aren't they? Who are they?' and YES. And you apparently really like it, and aren't just pretending because you know it will make me
insanehappy, and they really are one of my proper, ultimate OTPs, and oh. Yes.Wade still haunting. Wade still haunting FOREVER. Wade makes him cups of coffee when he's tired, and leaves them by his computer, since he's too tired to know where they came from. And heals his cuts a little bit when he stupidly gets into fights with people, as he is wont to do. You should watch the other episodes. He is quite beautifully gay for the older man, who is Monaghon. He brings him coffee (I think), and makes flirty comments about who's going to drive, and LEAPS IN FRONT OF A GUN to save him. And he offers to share a room with a crazy, cursed soldier to sneakily observe him closer for research. And he is revealed to be mostly a virgin, except for a woman he RAN AWAY FROM the next day. And he does and says all sorts of random, crazy things and I love him. Yes.

SPOILERS BELOW, OMG, BE WARNED!!!!
He does not touch him! This is terrible, but quite good for the characters, because, oh, the TRAGEDY of it is that they are clearly soulmates but THEY NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO FALL IN LOVE! Especially not Craig, who is a bit rubbish with sex and feelings and things (for which I love him), and would have taken years to figure it out anyway. But they've had this thing where Wade wanted to heal the little girl or possibly 'give her' to his dead sister - we don't know until the very end. And Craig thought he was all phony and taking advantage, and then going to give her to the dead sister so he was running around trying to stop him. But then at the end its just them in the castle, and there's just angst and eyes of worry and finding out he was wrong, and lovely, LOVELY gay things said by John Hannah surreptitiously about their love, and Craig still doesn't know, and omg. You should see it! Join my fandom. Yes.
