• I am also currently shipping Angel/Lindsey, which is just the doomedest pairing that ever doomed, and all the fic I read only seems to confirm it.

• I appear to have a disturbing crush on George Orwell. I entirely blame the picture of him that was on Have I Got Old News For You the other week. Hmm.


• I also have an odd crush on Orson Welles, which might be confusing if you're trying to remember whether I love Orwell or Orson Welles, but just remember it's both and you'll be okay.

LOL! I'm more of a seriously huge UC het shipper.

I do have some slash though. Not sure if you know those fandoms apart from Green Wing! my OTP slash pairing of the moment is Boyce and Alan from GW. And it's very hard not to love Mac/Guy as well.

I also like quite a few slash pairings in other fandoms like 24 and LOST as well (although not as much of the het) so check out LOST when it starts airing in the UK!

I don't think I've ever seen a picture of George Orwell. I refuse to crush on him because I hate animal farm because of experiences at school, so I am not going to google for pictures just in case.

Angel/Lindsey is a bit doomed. But also can be happy because really it's all about the fucking and not so much about the being deeply in love? No? I don't know. Iwas trying to explain to dodyskin just the other day that I don't really see Angel (the series) as being all dark and miserable like other people seem to. I don't know.

I have been looking for pictures of him today, and the ones I have found were much less pretty than the one I remember seeing on HIGNFY. More old and withery. I think perhaps this is because they were on academic-type sites and they didn't want to put the pretty pictures of him up because that would be practically admitting they had gay love for him, rather than 'appreciation of his works'. Yes.

I am a whore for vowel sounds. You have caught me ::shame-free!::

There is the aspect to Angel that is all wacky and snarky and demon-killery-cool, wherein Angel is mostly a big dork who does (subtextual) gay sex with everyone, which is lovely. But I do try to be practical and realistic about fandoms, and then I have to deal with the demony horrible side, which causes everyone around Angel to either die or kill lots of people or go so crazy they need their memories wiped. Very little chance of a happy ending for anyone, as I see it. Probably I shouldn't be thinking about the ending, but I do.

In the same way I try to be realistic about the characters, especially the characters I love, like Lindsey ::pets him:: With whom I do possible Big Love with Angel. And then I get quite upset, because every way out for him is doomed in its own special way. If he stays at Wolfram and Hart, he's doing things he hates and hating himself and going to Hell without quite meaning to. If he makes himself be all evil, then he's killing a part of himself and being all 2-dimensional, and still going to hell. But if he leaves Wolfram and Hart to shag Angel, he's admitting that life isn't all about power and powerlessness, and that doing anything just to not be dying in a gutter is okay - which is still losing a kind of innocence, really, and it still makes me sad. Hmph.

I would be much happier if there was just fic wherein; 'Angel walks into Lindsey's office. Angel ignores Lindsey's protests and shags him on the desk. Angel shags him until he is exhausted and can't argue anymore. Angel drags him back to Angel Inc. to work for him, while still being snarky and a bit evil. Angel shags him whenever this gets too much. Repeat till Lindsey is simply snarky and less evil. Hurrah.'

Hmph.

It is sad that everyone Angel knows is doomed to sadness, yes. I think really Angel lost out on angst points from me by bringing spike into it fifth season because Angel and Spike are happy togehter and it made Angel happy and then he was a bit pointlessly sacrificing EVERYONE HE KNEW at the end there but I suppose it might have worked out but yes. I think that last season through it into just big gay orgy part of my brain that the angst flew away. I should probably try to get it back but frankly I'm happy to have a slightly happy fandom at the moment:)
