girlofprey: (Spiderman 3 Anything sadder puppies)

I thought I was done being emotional over Dragon Age. But I've been doing a new playthrough with a few tweaked choices so I can play Dragon Age 2 again (lord mercy no) and have the background I want for when Inquisition comes out.

But I got to the Landsmeet and decided to save and let Loghain (the bad guy) live and join you in helping to save the world, mostly just for some background on Loghain and Anora. I knew that Alistair left you when you did that, but if you've romanced him - and maybe if you haven't - oh my God the sadness in his eyes when he looks at you. And he says:

"I had all these dreams...but they don't matter now."

OH MY GOD. ALISTAIR. STEVE VALENTINE. OH.

I mean, it doesn't exactly cover him in glory to basically pitch a fit and abandon your saving-the-world quest because you threw in with a guy he doesn't like. But I knew that already. And omg.

Meanwhile my Dalish elf Warden has had to start hanging out with Loghain, who sold a bunch of elves into slavery to fund his part in the Civil War, and shows not one shred of remorse for it. "I killed a bunch of other humans people you know!". What a cunt. But it makes me think of ANOTHER au where my Warden's entire clan was killed by humans and she never joined the Grey Wardens, and instead became a bloodthirsty terrorist intent on taking her grief out on all humans, especially the King. And then she meets Alistair, who can't condone her behaviour but also can't exactly blame her either. DRAGON AGE.

In other news I still cannot with fandoms where people get SO het up about other people 'liking the bad guy', and self-congratulatory about arguing with people about it. I mean, some people like bad guys in terrible ways, but. What are you doing? What are you achieving? asjdaklsjdklj.

AND OF ALL THE FANDOMS TO GET HUNG UP ON MORALITY, BORDERLANDS? BORDERLANDS, REALLY?
