I have been watching Coronation Street. And while I'm never going to be SAD that Tracy's gone, I'm prett sure Steve had an injunction out on her to stop her taking Amy away. That was the point of the whole telling Social Services about Max thing, wasn't it? I don't really know much about custody law, but I'm pretty sure that given that they never told anyone when Amy moved back in with Tracy or sorted out joint custody or something, that he's pretty well within his rights to just call his solicitors and get Amy back with him.

But still. It does mean that Tracy has gone. So I can't complain too much.

Is LJ back now, then? Or at least better today? I kind of feel like I should post whenever I have the chance anyway. Even if it's just to say 'Post!'. Just because I can.

ETA: I have come back and spoilercut this, a few hours later. I don't always with soaps, and I have no idea if anyone on my flist is watching it at the moment, but I decided I probably should just in case. I'm sorry if I did spoiler anyone.

I've only just watched. When I saw your post I thought it was going to be David Platt FINALLY getting involved with the whole Gary thing, but this was about as good. I was confused about the injunction as well, but maybe by being weird about Max they cancelled it or something. Still, I love that she's gone. I HOPE SHE MEANT IT ABOUT NOT COMING BACK.

In my mind, the night after every episode involves David and Gary sitting in the shed out back, drinking beers and talking everything through. Sadly, they're not putting that in the actual show. But Mikey North did an interview the other day about what he'd like to see in Gary's future, and he said he'd love his feud with David Platt to flare up again, and for it to be an on-running thing like Ken Barlow and Mike Baldwin. I'd prefer love and companionship and destroying their enemies' lives together to a feud, but I'll take a feud if there's nothing else on offer.

I do actually know where the Steve-Tracy-Becky storyline is going, but I won't spoil it for you. I think the injunction thing was just a bit of weird writing though, the kind they've had to do quite a lot to write Tracy back into the show and keep her in it. Steve did say something at the end about how they had a binding agreement, and she said 'Sue me!', but if it's still true I can't see why he wouldn't just do that, and have Amy immediately back with him. Anyway. I'm less annoyed about weird writing that means she leaves than weird writing that brought her back, in any case.
