My bedroom is still not tidy. BUT, I have organised the big massive pile into SMALLER, SEPARATE PILES. And might be able to start putting some of the things in it up any day now, tomorrow maybe. Also, I thought I might have lost something else, a set of pairs of earrings I just in the last few weeks bought from Claire's Accessories. But then I figured out where they might have ended up falling into, checked it, and found them. Hurrah! The Chesnut Soldier and the 6 or so books of Fables, I still haven't managed to find.

Other things I have been doing:

  1. I went to see Eclipse, film 3 of the Twilight Saga. I actually quite enjoyed it. I have ended up on Team Edward sort of, without really meaning to be, partially based on how Robert Pattinson has apparently said he plays the role (a manic depressive who hates himself, apparently). But I also pretty much enjoyed it as a film. Things in it weren't too stupid, and from what I have heard of the book they took out a lot of the stuff that was just awful, and gave people a lot better reasons for the things they did, and bothered to be funny sometimes. And quite a bit of it was super-powered vampire/massive werewolf fight scenes. And speaking of which, I find it hard to believe there wasn't a werewolf/Cullen family orgy after that big fight. Hard to believe. Also, people ([livejournal.com profile] cleolinda) had mentioned the potential for Edward/Seth slash, but OH MY GOD, I WASN'T EXPECTING THAT LEVEL OF IT. DUDES. Robert Pattinson gave that giant CG werewolf some SEARING looks, dudes. It was kind of brilliant.

  2. I caught up on Teen Girl Squad. I LOVE TEEN GIRL SQUAD. I LOVE THEM A WHOLE LOT.

  3. Most of the time, I go on Digital Spy and I hate Digital Spy. They hate most of the characters I like. Or, the people who hate the characters I like are very vocal about it, and the people who like the characters I like are not. However, sometimes they make posts like this one. And it is awesome.

Last week, after Natasha boyfriend Declan had broken up with her for the first time because of 'something weird going on between her and Nathan', and before she broke up with him finally because she couldn't handle a boyfriend AND being blackmailed, he said to her, 'I can tell that you're struggling. With what happened with Mark, and with Nathan. Why don't we go to a nice restaurant, and just talk, and then have a few drinks'. You know who is ACTUALLY struggling, Declan? Nathan. Maybe you should take him out for dinner, and some drinks. Then maybe he could break down because someone's being nice to him, and tell you everything that is happening in his terrible life, and you could call the police and put a stop to it, and hopefully keep Nathan out of it a bit, and everything will be a lot better.

Other things that are weird about Nathan and Declan:

    • Back when Nathan first came back, Declan took him back into the business only after insisting Nathan would be working 'for me, not with me'. While at the same time, eyeing up Natasha's/the company's PA, asking if she was very efficient and whether they wouldn't just be better off firing her. Declan, we all want a sexy PA like Nathan, but you can't just go poaching your girlfriend's kids. Seriously.

    • Declan doesn't like Nathan, and was appalled, appalled when it turned out Nathan had gotten the planning permission he'd wanted by blackmailing a councilor, and isn't even dating Nathan's mum at the moment. And technically has a majority say in the business. And still hasn't fired him.

    • The other week, when Natasha and Declan were dating in secret, and possibly Declan was mad at Nathan for something, he was in the office with Natasha and she was talking about how Nathan used to take guitar lessons when he was young, which was unfortunate for everyone because he was tone deaf, and Declan just IMMEDIATELY WANTED TO HAVE SEX WITH HER. ON THE DESK. RIGHT THERE. I think the combination of thinking of Nathan young, playing music, and being bad at something, drove him into a kind of a frenzy. And even if he wanted to sleep with Natasha to sort of spite Nathan, who wasn't even there, dude, that's still a bit weird.

    • Frustrated, furious attraction is something I could completely understand when it comes to Nathan on that show. From all the people those guys mentioned in that post and more.

Meanwhile Cain, who was the person doing the aforementioned blackmailing of Natasha, at first thought he was just blackmailing Nathan, and seemed to mostly be concerned with having Nathan 'do as he's told'. At one point he was talking about it with his girlfriend, and that was what he said he wanted from him. He didn't even mention the money, just that he wanted Nathan to 'do as he's told'. It was awesome. And Cain's already grabbed his balls once in the Woolpack toilets. No lie. As I say, it's an emotion I can completely understand from other characters when it comes to Nathan.

And Nathan's still sort of running around, trying to deal with his dad being dead, his mum being a murderer, his mum just not seeming to care about having murdered his dad and having a new boyfriend, his sister hating him, and possibly being blackmailed (again) by Cain. And he's not dealing with it terribly well. Oh god Nathan. God.

That is an awesome post. Justin and Warren, ha ha! That was the slashiest thing ever.

...Maybe you should take him out for dinner, and some drinks. Then maybe he could break down because someone's being nice to him, and tell you everything that is happening in his terrible life, and you could call the police and put a stop to it, and hopefully keep Nathan out of it a bit, and everything will be a lot better...

This is the best idea ever. I wish.

I was really trying not to go down this route, but I think that was a lost cause from the off. Just why IS he so interested in Nathan? I think you make an excellent case.

I must admit, part of the reason I asked about Nathan's relationships was because I was wondering if he might have been gay/bi, because he didn't seem to notice any women at all (well, on the rare occasions he interacted with ones he wasn't related to) but did seem really very interested in Declan.

I do find him more attractive the more I watch, though.

And I sort of feel bad for Declan as well - he was trying to be nice to Natasha, and sooner or later he's going to find out that, essentially, it never went anywhere because she was a murderer, and Cain will probably be a bastard to him because of that, etc etc. So he should talk to Nathan. Or something.

The thing with Nathan and Declan is just weird. From the way it's played and the things Declan says, it seems like he's meant to hate Nathan, but mostly he just seems frustrated with him. Probably because he doesn't really understand what's going on with Nathan and Natasha. And on the one hand it's understandable that he'd be frustrated, because he doesn't get on with Nathan but he can't really fight with him for Natasha's sake. But then it also seems really personal, like him coming after Nathan when he thought Nathan had had Mark's suit delivered to him, rather than just telling Natasha about it. And then afterwards in the pub, when Charity was trying to get information out of him and they were talking, and she said Nathan was a little jerk or whatever, and Declan 'didn't want to talk about it'. Surely that would be exactly where he might want to blow off some steam, or at least say something, since he was already talking to her about other stuff? But no. I don't know, obviously I am seeing it slashily, but he does seem to be a bit weird when it comes to Nathan. But it's not like I've never seen a relationship before that I thought was chock full of sexual tension, and then just went NOWHERE.

I must admit, part of the reason I asked about Nathan's relationships was because I was wondering if he might have been gay/bi, because he didn't seem to notice any women at all

Well, in the clip I linked to above, just before that he came into the pub with the money Cain had blackmailed him for, and said he wanted to go into the toilets, and Cain said something like 'We're not in your public school now, you know', and Nathan just didn't say anything in reply to that, he just said that he wasn't about to sneakily hand over a bag of money to someone he's meant to hate in the bar of the pub where his sister works. If he did go to a public school (I can't remember if they said he did), I could completely see him having 'experimented' as a teenager - especially since that would probably have been more of a physical thing than an emotional one. At any rate, I could totally dig him as bisexual at the least, but as you say he doesn't really seem to have many relationships at all outside of his family. And frankly, on the level of the show, I can't see them having him come out as gay or bi anytime soon given that they've just had the massive Aaron storyline. But you can always hope.

I didn't really like Declan when he came in, given that he was a new romantic lead for Natasha, and his main form of courtship seemed to be talking over her, and pushing her into business decisions she didn't want after promising to be a 'silent partner'. Which she was mysteriously charmed by. But I like him a lot more in his interactions with Natasha since things have gotten difficult between them, and his interactions with Nathan. It's funny because in some ways Nathan and Declan seem quite similar - they both had the idea for paintballing in the woods, and Nathan was really interested in Declan's ideas for barn conversions. It seems like they might get along if they weren't arguing about Natasha, and Nathan wasn't a bit crazy at the moment. It has occured to me that if Natasha is arrested for killing Mark, Nathan will probably be staying in Home Farm, with Declan still owning most of the estate business. God knows what would happen then - possibly Declan would just sell up and get out, but maybe he'd decide to hang in there instead.

I did find some Nathan/Aaron slash though, happily. It's here (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5879746/1/Use_Somebody), and it's unfinished but it's actually quite well written, hurrah.

>> I know! It is odd, because you could see why Declan would just not like Nathan AT ALL, but then he'd forget about it in the next episode.

But it's not like I've never seen a relationship before that I thought was chock full of sexual tension, and then just went NOWHERE.

>> Tell me about it.

I can't get that video to work on YT or downloading :( (don't know why the downloading won't work, I might just keep trying) But yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if he had had physical realtionships with men in the past, but equally they're unlikely to go anywhere with it because of Aaron, as you say.

I found his introduction - the thing with the car stealing and the date and what have you - weird, but otoh I couldn't say it was a soap introduction I'd seen before, so points there! And I wasn't really interested in him being involved in the business (although the not-so-silent partner thing seemed odd to me too), but he's getting better.

Declan and Nathan working together would be great. Especially if Declan started being nice to Nathan; he'd have no idea how to handle it.

Thanks for the link :) I will keep trying the YT one (there seems to be quite a lot of Nathan stuff on there - I'll get it to download eventually...)

Also, one day I am totally going to try to do a comment about Emmerdale that is, I don't know, less than three paragraphs. It's SO HARD when it comes to soaps and there is just SO MUCH canon. Sorry about that.

Not a problem! TBH it's great for me as I actually know some of what's been going on :D

(also, I'm hardly in a position to judge anyone else's wordcount when it comes to tv...)

Ok, so I FINALLY managed to dl that bit. And, um, maybe all the Wylde/Lamb bits back to September. And OH MY GOD, it's like every guy Nathan comes into contact with wants to screw him.

I KNOW, RIGHT? I can't entirely say that I blame them. I think someone in that Digital Spy post said, he seems to have sexual tension with MOST MEN he comes into contact/conflict with. Even Ryan. For a while I wasn't sure if they weren't going to do an accidental incest storyline with Nathan and Ryan, but they went with Maisie. Whatever. Oh, I can't even really remember what happened back into September. Did you see the bit when Ryan told Nathan that Mark and Faye had been having an affair? That bit was brilliant.

Even David, omg. Even though David hates him, hahaha.

I wasn't expecting Ryan and Nathan to have quite that level of chemistry...

Yes, I saw that bit last week (I have made it to October so far, currently David is showing Nathan up in the pub). It's kind of bad, but even while they're all having massive arguments and meltdowns about the *affair*, I'm waiting for them to find out about him being Ryan's dad...
