Anyway. I had a great weekend. I got the train to London about 12-ish on Friday, and K was going to meet me, but her temp agency called at the last minute, and she had work, so I went back to my back-up plan: wandering around the British Museum. Which I love. I went to the Timepieces room, and saw the lovely clockwork, and almost broke an exhibit with my head, but managed to stop myself. I went to a lovely little room where they had sort of medieval pottery and pendants, and was told by the guard to turn my MP3 player off, because he could hear it across the room. Which I didn't think anyone could since I got it. But there you go. They still have the lovely Rosetta Stone wall plaque, even if I can't afford it. And I'd just wandered into a lovely big room and was reading about conchology, when K called and I set off back to hers.

Then the next day, we went on a walk with wolves. It took us three trains to get there from K's, but the people gave us a lift from the nearest station, and we had to wait about a bit for the wolves to arrive, but then they did, and we had to stand in a line with our hands out in a fist for them to smell, if they wanted to, which it turned out they weren't bothered about. There were a bit of health and safety regulations they emailed us about which meant we weren't supposed to have bags or clothes with lots of tassels or straps or bright clothes or garments, which freaked K out a bit, and me a little, but it turned out - as I had thought - it was just about not upsetting the wolves or making them overly interested in you or things attached to you. And they were lovely. They were the juvenile pack the centre has, but they were pretty big, but they were lovely and calm, and so beautiful. We kept having "Meet and greets" when the wolves were settled and interested enough. I stroked two wolves. On the belly. It was amazing. I had a great time.

And photobucket's being an absolute bastard, but I did manage to get some pictures.

They are Canadian wolves, and they are sisters. The greyer ones called Mai, and she seemed a bit more nervous than the other, but apparently she's the alpha female. The darker one's called Mosi. We were apparently going to see their brother Turak as well, but he made it slightly clear that he didn't want to go out that day. Mai and Mosi were more than lovely enough though.

A bit after this, Mosi got out of the water, and just wandered through the crowd, and actually came right up to me before I noticed, and smelled my leg, and I had the instinct to stroke her, after I got over the shock. The man on the chain said "Don't!" pretty quick though, just as I'd remembered and was making my hand into a fist for her to smell. I'm pretty sure I accidentally pulled one of her whiskers while making the fist, but she didn't seem to mind. Then she just wandered off. It was a bit great.

The people from the Centre were lovely, and gave me and K a ride back to the centre, where I saw the European wolves, including the one OI had adopted. We stayed about with the other people from the walk, talking and asking questions until it got dark, and then someone gave us a ride to the station again. I'd really like to volunteer there, but the 3 and a half hour train journey puts me off. I don't know. But it was still quite brilliant.

And then on Sunday, I came back into London, and met up with Cee, and she took me to a Cuban restaurant and bought me lunch. I took about three hours to eat mine, and that's not really that at much of an exaggeration. It was both difficult to chew, and delicious. And Cee was lovely. I almost had a Cuba Libre, but decided against it. And then I hard to dash, and probably wouldn't have if Cee hadn't sort of said I should, and it's a good thing she did because I ended up getting my train with about 4 minutes to spare. And then I came back. It was a great weekend. GREAT.
