Gah! I was all ecstatic (y'know, in a cool way) about the second part of 'The Ring' being on today, even if it was from quarter past five till 9:30(!), and then at the last minute some main character gets sick, and the BBC decide to show a later show with him in it when he gets better, which will apparently be on the 7th of May! Growl! Because TV watchers won't be able to handle the change in continuity, apparently. Double-growl. I suppose it's better for the actor guy. But still. I want to see Brunhilde, damnit! Between this and film/DVD release dates always being pushed back, pretty soon there will be either yoga or death.

Still, the part I saw was pretty fabulous. It's hard to concentrate on the music when you're trying to watch the mad, singing people, but some of the Siegmund parts were liek woah! And go Siegmund and Sigelinde, with their 'yes we're doing incest, we don't care' style. In conclusion, May 7th will probably be a date for my diary, and I may be wasting some money on opera CDs real soon. Yes.

My jeans hurt. Ouch. And I'm going to McDonalds tomorrow morning with my cousin and her children. Possibly the easter eggs need to go in a box for a while yes. Dad has thrown internet print-outs of mini-disc recorders at me, wanting to order it and get it here before I go back, but now I'm all conflicted and wondering if I really want the iRiver (which I can carry pictures, ie icons, and text, ie fic, around with me on), or another, new iPod thing. And now dad's saying don't worry about giving me back the iRiver, I will use it - what does that mean?! Gah! Confusion!

Mostly I think I just want money, to buy myself random pretty things with. Not the best of long-term plans though. Hmm.

Attempts to write Lemony Snicket hook-handed man movie!fics that have been circling around in my head for a while were hampered (ie killed) by my complete lack of ideas for how they should begin. Which is annoying, because I know pretty much how all of the rest of them go. I have the first lines, it's just the 'setting the tone' bit that's getting away from me. The new, sneaky, smiling-from-under-a-too-large-hat book!characterisation is throwing me a little bit as well, though I do love it. I could do with him being a bit less dim though. Although that actually works for my fics. I busied myself laying the foundations of the Fernald/Violet playlist instead, including some songs that only fit some bizzare tragic love story of theirs in the future. They make me smile though! Quite why I think the Killers' 'Mr Brightside' suits Fernald(ie hook-handed man)/Violet though I don't know.

Watched 'Return to Oz' again this morning. Still creepy. But omg, Ozma/Dorothy! It made me think about a fic I heard of once (in a lullaby...::slaps self::), but never read, about future!Dorothy in Parisian opium dens, trying to get back to her dream world. Sigh. I suppose it will just have to be my beautiful dream.

Ooh, ooh, wasn't that a comic book by... dammit, I can't remember who. But it also had Alice and Wendy (from Wonderland and Neverland, respectively) at the ages they would have been at the time it was set? And at the same time, the war's going on and everything's falling apart and I really hope I'm not just making this up. I haven't read it myself but I'm almost certain I've heard of it.

Also, Return to Oz? Freaked me out badstyle when I was a kid. And still does. The wheelies! The heads! Dorothy Gaaaaale! *FEAR OMG!*

Ooooooh, I do not know. I heard about it on the Internet, and it's a story, so I assumed it was fic, specifically a Yuletide fic (cos of the rare), but I couldn't find it on the archive. Didn't hear anything about Alice or Wendy, but it could be. Either way my searches turned up zero though :(

Omg, so creepy. The deadly desert! The try-not-to-turn-into-an-ornament game! The ripped up yellow brick road! And the beginning's a lot creepier as an adult too. Don't electroshock Dorothy! :O

I feel slightly smarter for realising the Wheelers were the equivalent of the bed-wheelers in the mental hospital. I feel slightly stupider for having been scared of a Gnome King who wears girl's slippers, ruby-encrusted or not. Either way though, Fairuza Balk=pretty Dorothy. I can see why Ozma was all 'if you ever want to return to Oz, y'know...::winks::'. I'm thinking that'll come in real handy when Dorothy hits about 25, with a boozy husband and 7 kids ;)
