Vid recs:

There's a rather good Torchwood Owen vidlet here: He's a Terrible Person

And quite a good Toshiko one here: A Floorplan

I had a terrible day today. The other guy I'm on reception with wasn't feeling well, so I tried to take a lot of the work, and I spent my lunchtime getting alternately chewed out by offenders who didn't have the appointments they thought they did and the staff. Hmph. Still. It's over now.

Oh, boo. I'm sorry your work people were awful. It's quite sad that the offenders didn't RALLY TO YOUR DEFENCE like they might have done in a film. WHY DO YOU NOT LIVE IN AN UNREALISTICALLY UPLIFTING FILM, RACHAEL? That could solve all of your problems!

I SHOULD TOTALLY CONSIDER THAT OPTION. Oh it would have been lovely if the offenders had leapt to my defence. Possibly with a song. I try QUITE HARD to get people down to see them in a reasonable time. They could totally have done some leaping. Instead I must live out my life in FILTHY REALITY. With only some singing. The work people were a bit nicer today, though. IT WAS LIKE A HAPPY ENDING.

In one of my many changes of job, I am now working as a receptionist in a probation office. So just slightly post-prison. We get phonecalls from the prisons though. And people who come to us the same day they've been released. PRACTICALLY YOU CAN TASTE THE PRISON DUST. Mostly you take people's names and who they think they're seeing, think what a nice person they seem, then see what they're in for and think 'zomg'. It's rather stressful, but quite exciting. And thank you, and yes - today was much less nightmarish.

In one of the tomb raider games, you can let offenders out of their cells and they run around with you defending you from the assassins who are chasing you.

Your offenders, in comparison, are rubbish. Boo.

I played that one! That was the one Tomb Raider I played! She goes to Nevada or somewhere, and ends up in that prison that ships food to Area 51. Oh, I loved those prisoners. I love how much they hated the guards. And how they didn't care when Lara escaped through into air ducts. My offenders DON'T COMPARE AT ALL, no. It might have meant I had to pull myself up to the ceiling and escape through a tunnel if they had though. THANK YOU.
