Aaand I think Heroes might just have been ruined for quite a few people on my flist. If Nathan is indeed dead. There's every chance Peter hasn't learned to GIVE HIM HIS BLOOD. But then again, who knows? If he's alive, he's probably going to be getting sick of being the injured one all the time. If he's not, Peter's probably going to open up a whirlwind of pain on the Company. Who wants to bet that the shooter was Bennett?
I was going to talk about last week's episode last week, but I had some rage and thought it was best to wait and see how this one turned out. Mainly, I had heard the spoiler about Niki dying in a fire, and along with Monica's power being COMPLETELY USELESS when faced with a group of guys, I started getting annoyed about the horrendous gender issues. But oh, Niki actually ran around, kicking people and saving people, so even if she has died I'm not actually that annoyed about it. Still a bit annoyed, because I like her, and when she actually does things it's a bit awesome. But not as annoyed as if she'd died because of Evil Men after a Man let her down on the cure-front. The explosion seemed pretty definite, but we all know that Claire/Adam's blood can bring people back from the dead. And how far are they going to stretch that? It's seems like it'd be quite a lot of punishment for Micah to have both his parents die. Although now they've got another family and Woman With Powers to take care of him. So I don't know. Generally, I just don't trust cliffhangers.
But other than that, I thought it was quite good. The bits with Elle were good. The bits with Bennett were good. There were no massive logical flaws I could see, except that PETER YOU CAN READ MINDS. READ ADAM'S MIND? Hiro's punishment of Adam seemed a bit much, frankly. A bit worse than death, sort of? But it leaves it open for his return, and for Molly to find him or something, which is probably what they were going for. Peter and Adam teaming up again to take the Company. That would be quite good.
I still mostly love Peter, especially when he uses his powers to just destroy anyone in his path. I like how he's good with his powers. I take it he's the Pandora's box his mother was talking about. He seems to be a lot more violent this year. It's nice how Niki and Micah can have a joke in the car when his cousin's been kidnapped by thugs. West turned out to be a BIT crazy and wanky, canonically, which was nice. SYLAR, THE GLASS ISN'T YOUR ENEMY! But he has his powers back, and an eye for some new characters. It'll be interesting to see who he's up against in the next season. Sylar vs. Elle - for the win. But he failed to sing the Popeye song at the end there. Fail.
And thus ends this season. Or half-season. I'm still not sure how they're playing it. OH, PETER AND NATHAN.
ETA: Niki's death would be a good way to guilt-trip Mohinder, though, so hmm. And dude. That was quite bad of Hiro. Is this going to be his character development?

Date: 2007-12-05 08:32 pm (UTC)They were trapped in a prison together for months, which forms a SACRED BOND between two people! You've watched Oz, surely you know this. You don't just MESS THAT UP by telepathically raping your incarceration-friend just because five people said they were evil! WHY WOULD YOU EVER DO THAT? No, there was a think in season 1 about whether Peter retained powers from people after they were separated or could 'only do things when he's with other people', but it turned out that he was. He doesn't seem to always remember this though. OH PETER.
I assumed it was his father's grave from the get-go, so he would have to LIVE WITH WHAT HE'D DONE, and also because it was the grave Hiro would best know how to teleport into. But it was still quite bizarre. And creepy. And ineffectual. THIS IS A TV SHOW HIRO, CLEARLY HE WILL GET OUT! But still. Dude. Bet he won't be telling Ando about that one.
Oh, Heroes.
