Films are great

I went to see The Princess Bride at the Broadway today, and it turned out to be a great plan. Even if it was packed, and I did feel a bit guilty about not shifting up so people in pairs could sit together near the middle. ( The film )

I had a plan tonight to stay in and do some cleaning - the flat's being inspected on Monday, so I have to do some at some point. However I'm probably going to go watch the Painted Veil instead. Because it has Edward Norton in braces, being a doctor in 1920s China, married to a woman who thinks she hates him but turns out to not do that so much by the end of the film. And that's a whole bunch of kinks right there. I do need to do some food shopping at some point. Remind me.

I hired us a narrowboat

The Painted Veil was not that bad, actually. Edward Norton's character never became hugely exciting and ranty in the midst of an epidemic as I expected him to, but Naomi Watts was very good. Also there were Martinis drunk from science flasks, and MASH probably has it beat on many levels but it was quite win for me. I kept expecting everyone to be dead from cholera, but it turns out I was rubbish at predicting that, though I did learn to be wary of it. All in all, not a bad film.

At the moment I mostly just want to gather up all my LJ friends and go live on a narrowboat. We could be VERY SLOW PIRATES. How we would have the internet is the only thing vexing me. Unless! We all switched to wireless and stole it from WiFi spots as we went past, in piratey fashion. And how great would a narrowboat with a big skull and crossbones painted on one side be? Pretty damn great, I think.
