I have not been great with posting recently. Especially things that are actually happening in my life, I know this. Mostly I am just busy, but BUSY DOING NOTHING. Besides catching up with fandoms. That's quite good. And, y'know, the whole job thing. And keeping myself clean and fed. On that note, in fact, I just made myself eat something vaguely nutritious for dinner as well as the chips and cheese. GO ME. Anyway. To summarise:
Phew. So. Right. The current plan is to spend the weekend finishing Heroes. 11 episodes in two days is doable, right? While mostly hiding from the rain. And Doctor Who will be on tomorrow night. And tonight there will be South Park. I'll probably try to post again with more content at some point too. Rah!
- It rained in Nottingham today. Like woah. Sadly, the guy in our office who's afraid of thunder was off, so I didn't get to see him cower with fear. I did, however, get my feet wet, through the holes in my boots. Also they got soily. THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS, the only pair of boots I liked out of the two low-heeled pairs I found in Nottingham in January not only magically dissolved in the sole and gave me blisters, generally squash my feet, and make me slightly crippled if I try to walk too fast in them, but also have holes that let in water, and soil. I will be trying to fix them over the weekend, I think.
- I found a version of Utopia that didn't make me cry! Oh God that last part was good. Oh God. And their gay was so clear! The Master stole Ten's hand! I think
calapine might be getting that kinky fic she wanted soon enough. And yes, Martha didn't really do very much, and Simm!Master was a bit bouncy and over-acted at the end, but they do have the thing where they go a bit bouncy just after regeneration, don't they? And he had just gained a new body, his memory/DNA back, gotten a TARDIS and beaten the Doctor, which would surely be expected to make him happy. I am holding out hope for Saxon. Because I know John Simm can Bring It with the acting. And OH GOD JOHN SIMM. He smiled in the trailer for next week. It was great.
In my heart of hearts, I treasure the idea that Saxon will go and find that field where Ten made Baines a scarecrow, and be all "You wanna be in my gang?". Because Baines is surely a bit super-powered now he can never die. You know it makes sense. And maybe Baines could hook up with Jack! And there's a thought, "facts" aren't supposed to exist EXCEPT WHEN THE DOCTOR IS TOTALLY MAKING THEM SAFDSKAJHFKJSDHK.
Ahem. Anyway. Any pairing with Saxon in it would make me happy. Although I have absolutely no desire to read fic (or plot it) until I've seen the finale, frankly. - Marlon Dingle is the best thing ever. Followed closely by Val. And tonight on Emmerdale, Carrie asked Rodney (local businessman currently hired by the Kings to look after the estate (and Matthew is clearly more interested in being "partners" with him than Rosemary ever was)) - to teach her about business and running the estate, and he said he would if she told him about the boys, because he doesn't know "how the family operates". Which was beautiful, but then she said "I have known the boys for years", and NO, NO SHE HASN'T, she knew them for maybe a year while their mother was dying, then shagged their dad for a few years after that, and then has gotten back into their lives IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS, OH GOD, I HATE HER, I HATE THAT THEY PRETEND SHE HAS ANY IMPACT ON OR KNOWLEDGE OF THEIR LIVES. Maybe she was lying, so Rodney would teach her. She did admit she didn't understand the family a few weeks ago. Oh God. I just hate that they pretend she is more important to them than she is.
- I have watched Heroes up to episode 12/Godsend. I think it's safe to say I'm hooked. Oh God, I love Peter. I'm sorry. I know some people hate him. But I love him a bit. I love that he's been given responsibilty when he CLEARLY THE LAST PERSON WHO SHOULD HAVE ANY, EVER. I love that he turns his collar up because he's So Edgy. I love that his main role is to stagger around looking a bit ill, find other people that have powers, chase them down, and then get assaulted by them. And Sylar! I love Sylar too! I love that his chosen method of killing Peter was to cover his mouth, and then fall on him. Homecoming was generally a great episode. Except for the end bits that make no sense.
But Peter. I love that his power is to absorb the powers of other people, even though it's totally a cop-out power. I just love that his powers change to fit whoever he's with. I love that he's invincible when he's with Claire. I mostly want him to meet Niki so I can see if he gets an evil twin. I love that they make him great at controlling the powers he absorbs, when the people who actually have them aren't. And it also parallels him with Sylar, who is essentially absorbing other peoples' powers, though in a more deadly and permanent way. I LOVE THAT. Does he get all of Sylar's powers when he's around him? Is that what made him ill?
Oh. He's really just hitting a lot of my kinks. Sorry and all. He's a bit of a whiny emo boy. He has psychic visions. He runs off stupidly blind to save the world. I love that he ran with Claire. I love it. He got ill and fell over. He feels up his brother at every possible opportunity. And he's just. Oh. Obviously, I need to watch the rest of the season to see where they go and what they do with him, but at the moment I love him, and want to see what he does next. And I can't believe I have to worry about my favourite character EXPLODING. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.
Oh, and they had Christopher Ecclestone in the last episode! That was a suprise. Probably he and Hiro will share time-bending anecdotes. - I'm totally on my second Harry Potter book. See me finish canon.

Date: 2007-06-23 09:29 am (UTC)Oh God, the touching! I sort of assumed that the fans who liked incest had slashed them just because, but OH GOD THE TOUCHING. The hands on the back of each other's necks. The kisses while one lies in a hospital bed. Dude.
Nathan wants his mentally ill brother detained. DOES HE TRY TO GET POWER OF ATTORNEY OVER HIM NEXT?

Date: 2007-06-23 05:36 pm (UTC)I like Snape! What there is of him in Book 1 and 6. And I like Draco, he makes me laugh and hasn't started being racist yet. SEE ME BE ENTIRELY PREDICTABLE. I also quite like Harry, Ron and Hermione, which I wasn't expecting, although it does rely on me not taking them seriously. I'M ENJOYING BOOK 2. Are you watching Doctor Who?
