Oh God, Carl's killed two people by accident now. He's like a hazard. They're going to have to lock him up for the safety of the public. Or keep him in a room somewhere. Maybe Matthew will have to go everywhere with him just to make sure nothing happens. That would probably be the best option.
The Roman's Empire finale was wonderfully chock full of gay though. I love Jesus. And Seb. They were pretty obviously setting it up for a second series though. Although with lines like "I have 3 beautiful daughters and every right to drill for oil", and "No, he's much too clever for that. We'll just have to give up", I wouldn't argue. DVD now, please.
I went to see Spiderman 3 again last night, out of a general desire to get out of the house. I think I made a big mistake by attempting to take it at all seriously. I should really have gotten the clue when the 'humane', tragic villain was introduced with a theme tune of pumping trombones. If you ignore the plot, it's a complete blast. Also, you have to realise that characters are about 18, and then it all makes a lot more sense. This is quite sad for Mary Jane, who when I first went seemed like the only grown up on the screen. You know, working hard at her career, expecting her boyfriend to pay attention to their relationship. Seeing her another way makes her a bit flaily, bitingly insecure, and only slightly more emotionally capable than Peter. But then everything's a bit more fun when they're all crazy and flawed.
I enjoyed emo Peter a lot more this time too. He was actually getting some action and what he wanted with his new persona, as well as blowing up his friends. Is there a comic book about a super-powered emo teenage anti-hero who really doesn't care about anyone else? Because I would totally read that. And Eddie. Oh. I thought maybe I was forcing myself to like him because I liked the concept of him before even seeing the film, but I watched it again without trying to put any of my own ideas on it, and he's just adorable. He rolls in, all eager and willing to suck-up, and it's just beautiful. Peter was actually quite hostile to him from the very beginning, and frankly all he did to get that staff job was a) ask for it, and b) possibly, was a better photographer than Peter. And, y'know, doing it full time. Anyway, he's gets sort of bitchslapped and then just has to stare moodily from the sidelines, like a high-school outsider, and it's all just kind of lovely. And if you tell yourself (like Grace and Raimi did) that he had a terrible childhood, it's even better. I think emo!Peter/Eddie is my new favourite pairing. Which is good, because somebody wrote fic! Hurrah :)
Some of fandom is quite good at the moment.
