Emmerdale, the murder of Tom King

In a way it's very beautiful, though. The whole twisted family saga. And it happened the way I expected it would, if it was him - accidentally. At least according to him. It's even quite in character for Carl, who has a history of accidentally killing people. And it kind of makes sense, the least 'together' one in the family finally cracking under the strain. And then, on the flip side, the idea of the manipulative father finally being brought down by the 'good one'.
But it just ruins so many things. I wanted it to be someone outside the family because everyone thinks the Kings are bad, and that they probably did it, and I really wanted them to be exonerated in this case. And now the way Carl believed Chastity didn't do it is different, and the way he wanted the family to stick together is different, and oh. It's all just gone to hell a bit. Even if Carl is beautiful when he cries. They made such a big deal out of him sleeping with Carrie, and bringing the little sister in, that I really thought the King boys had to much else to do to have killed their father. But if they try to bring Scarlett in as a 'replacement' for Carl, I will scream bloody murder.
So it now it only matters what happens next. Which is the other reason I really didn't want Carl to have done it, despite the beauty - I don't want him to leave the show. According to the TV everyone's 'reeling from the revelation of the killer' tomorrow, so I assume it becomes common knowledge and he goes to the police. If he explains it was an accident and has a bit of a breakdown he might not get punished for full murder. But then the police don't seem terribly open to letting anyone off for this. Oh God, I hope he's fine. But his relationship with Matthew is never going to be the same. It's so beautiful that Jimmy knew and just tried to protect him. But neither of them are going to see him as the 'good one' anymore. Unless he really does have a nervous breakdown. Oh, they're probably just going to throw him in jail and get rid of him! And have Scarlett be the 'good one' from now on. I hate the producers of Emmerdale. A tiny bit. Doesn't Carl have to marry Chastity? Maybe not so much anymore.
