Video games are being so good to me lately. Handsome Jack is basically getting his own Borderlands game next month, and might be partially in another one? They're bringing back my favourite villain from Saints Row in a new expansion, AND APPARENTLY HIS ROLE IS HUGE, HE SEEMS TO BE YOUR GUIDE THROUGHOUT THE GAME AND GIVES YOU JOBS AND STUFF. And they're bringing out an art/backstory book for Dishonored, which in a way is better than a new game because they're unlikely to bring Daud or the Brigmore Witches back, and outside of that I only really care about the art and the world-building.

Maybe they will fix elves in the new Dragon Age game.

Maybe they will do something interesting with the Batarians in Mass Effect 4.

Maybe there will finally be a sequel to Wet.

Also, to my weekendmates from this weekend: I solved the mystery of the lost pen and pen top. It turns out I took an extra pen. Sorry dudes. But on the plus side, I have an extra pen now.

Also I have been complaining about fandom on Tumblr lately - albeit mostly in my own head - but the other night I discovered a community about my favourite pairing from Wanted, which was being updated up till last year, and a TFLN blog, and they're both dead now, but I am so happy, SO HAPPY.

A few things:

  • Wanted the first time was great. Wanted the second time was much better. It turned out to be unexpectedly beautiful, and other things I can't say without giving most of it away. Still. Wesley/Cross forever.

  • Hancock/Ray forever. AGAIN UNEXPECTEDLY BEAUTIFUL.

  • Edmund Pevensie forever.

  • Edmund/The White Witch sometimes.

I'm working at the probation office again. I don't know if I mentioned that. It's expectedly stressful and familiar. But I'm working with a woman who is apparently finding it more stressful. She comes in at 8 o'clock and yesterday came back after leaving at five because there was some diary on the computer system that had disappeared and she was trying to get it back, and apparently she didn't leave till half past seven. That's a bit formidable. I mostly hope that she's coping with it all okay. I cried at work for the first time last week, but apart from that it's all been pretty okay, even with all the stress of everyone moving buildings and moving teams and offenders moving teams. Gah. But it's mostly fine.

The flat's a mess. And I have to deadhead the dahlias. And the roses, I'm pretty sure. On the other hand, I finally got my Citycard, about a year after I first asked them to send me one. I may or may not go to Splendour in the Park so Kate Nash can sing about how she'd rather be with my friends, mate, cos they are much fittah. And I have the most beautiful suncatchers and windchimes in the world. YOU CAN'T IMAGINE THEM. Also; DRIPPIN' IN PRADA! Enough said.

I'm going to my parents again tomorrow. I need to pack still and the flat's a mess. And I'm clearly quite rubbish. But, an update before I go away for the weekend again.

  • Plants: potted. Well, most of them. I still need an extra pot for the other dahlia, and I'm waiting to see if the strawberry plant I got from Wilkinson's and left on the floor for a week without watering before I potted it is really dead before I plant my strawberry seeds. But essentially, they're outside. And looking quite nice. I just have to remember to water and feed them now.

  • Wanted turned out to be much better than I was expecting it to be. Actually, it started out much worse, with the random judging of fat people. And then it did what it looked like it was going to do in the trailers and be all "Living an ordinary life is totally uncool, only by being violent and a bit sexy - FOR THE GREATER GOOD - can you be truly in control", but then things happened which meant that wasn't the total message of the film. Which I wasn't sure would happen. I actually really quite liked it. It had a relationship which I totally dug, and Angelina Jolie didn't annoy me too much, although she was clearly the Sexy Woman. I like that they gave her things to do that were about her character. I always like that. I love that Hollywood was all "COME MAKE US A MOVIE, TIMUR BEKMAMBETOV!" and he was all "OKAY, BUT ONLY IF I CAN BRING MY BOYFRIEND WITH ME". I love Konstantin Khabensky. He was rather lovely.

  • All wrongs have been righted in Iron Man fandom. I am in the middle of an Obadiah/Tony fanfic party.

  • I have to go pack now.
