Apr. 7th, 2011 07:07 pmI went a bit radio silence for a bit. Sorry about that. Between LJ being down, often just when I wanted to post, and finishing Heavy Rain and going out to read slash, I sort of didn't get round to doing LJ much. To sum up:
The only annoying thing about finishing Heavy Rain is that it's a game, and doing different things have different outcomes, so even after you've finished it you haven't necessarily seen everything that other fans have. Then again, it means you get to see scenes following on from different outcomes of certain events, which is also nice. I am sort of putting off playing the game all the way through again to try to get the different endings, of which there are many, just because I'm not sure I care enough, at this point, to go through the whole thing again. Also some of them just sound depressing. But I probably will eventually.
Jayden and Blake though. ( Vague spoilers ) It's a bit odd because I heard about them before I played the game, which is always slightly awkward I think, but they didn't really disappoint. Mostly I want to play the game through and unlock the ending where they continue to have to work together, and spend their time pissing each other off, solving crimes, and having angry sex whenever they feel like it. I get the feeling I can't though. Still, there is actual fic, as I discovered while playing the game, and wasted no time in reading when I'd finished the game. IT'S SO NICE TO BE IN A FANDOM THAT HAS FIC. Lovely really.
In other news, I saw part of the first episode of The Crimson Petal And The White last night. I heard about it a few weeks ago, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch it because I bought the book years ago, and still have some intentions of reading it. Which always seems a bit harder when you've seen a TV show that probably gives away the end. But my parents had it on when I went down to have my tea, so I ended up watching part of it. ( Sort of spoilers )
I also went to my first session of a confidence course today. It was fine, but seemed to involve a lot of talking to people I didn't know. Which maybe I should have expected, and it was fine really, and you didn't have to if you didn't want to, but it still seemed a bit full on for the first session. I shall have to see if instills any confidence in me.
