Oh, Paul Merton is beautiful when things make him smile!

My last full week of work at my dad's firm is over. Except for the part where I had Tuesday afternoon off for shopping, but you know what I mean. We've got next Friday off, and it's a half day on Thursday, and I imagine Thursday morning will be as much full of drinking and paper hats as filing. I find the mornings tend to go pretty quickly anyway. And then I will be finished at probably the only job I'll get chauffered to nine days out of ten, and have lunch bought for me at about the same rate. Now it's almost the end it's kind of sad, and the whole Finding A New Job thing is looking kind of scary. But in the same way that its been the thing I've been looking forward to for about three months now. I wonder when I get paid.

Today's proud achievement was to finally send my CV off to the employment agencies in Nottingham. This weekend I have to: write my Yuletide fic, and write all my Christmas cards. And wrap all the presents that are being sent. Except that naturally I have A HUNDRED OTHER THINGS TO DO TOO, but really, these are the main/Really Quite Urgent ones. I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with myself after the last post/Yuletide deadline. Hmm.

I went to see Pan's Labyrinth last night. It is a great film and I recommend it, though its not exactly a light-hearted watch. There's a fair bit of fascism and torture, and fantasy horror, and its subtitled if you don't like that kind of thing, but still a really brilliant bit of filmmaking. I thought the Fascism storyline could have been a bit better interwoven with the fantasy storyline - I never really got much sense of the girl being danger, though rationally I knew it - but that's all I'd say. It's beautiful.

I'm still enjoying Jam and Jerusalem. It's like the perfect compliment to Suburban Shootout. One day, I will have massive marathon double bill. Or just alternate episodes of each, for the fun. At the moment, I'm mostly craving offbeat American comedy though. Like my That 70s Show Season 1 boxset, or Third Rock From the Sun. Yeah, baby.
