Well. Here's a thing I learned today. My ON loves Minecraft, and he loves playing online multiplayer Minecraft games. Because my dad's computer's is way faster and better than his, he loves to come down here and play them. It turns out that when he does, because we're splitting a wired connection, my internet is so slow as to be almost unusable. So that's going to make things interesting. Particularly if I get into any online multiplayer games I also want to play all the time.

Yesterday was cold at work again, and now my cough has slightly come back. It never fully went away, and I haven't really had my voice back for a few weeks, but it's come weirdly tickly again today, although without any extra phlegm really, so just for no reason at all. I don't know what I did to the Queen, what any of us did really, to deserve this, but I hope it ends soon. For God's sake.

I went to Oxford, and think I may have returned with a bit of [livejournal.com profile] cakesy's cold. Boooo.

So, yesterday I was meant to be meeting up with the man who runs the Wakefield charity I am starting to volunteer at, to attend an actual meeting with a local women's charity to look at maybe jointly setting up a women's group, or getting advice while we do it or whatever. And essentially I had arranged to meet him at his office, but it would have actually meant me walking past the place we were both going to get to his office and then walking back with him. So I tried to text him to rearrange but he never replied, and I called him but it went straight to voicemail. So I walked down to the office, rather than risk leaving him waiting - but the place was shut, proper security bars over the door, no-one at the desks type of thing. Which I have never seen when I've been down to that place before, and wouldn't expect on a weekday afternoon. Anyway, there was no-one around, so I waited a few minutes then walked back to the women's charity, assuming he might have gone there. But when I got there he wasn't there, and there was a bit of a mix-up and I ended up waiting for fifteen minutes after the meeting was meant to start. But he didn't turn up within that time, and then I met the woman we were supposed to be talking to, and she'd also called him and had no reply.

So I ended up just having this meeting by myself, essentially. Except I couldn't tell her much about the organisation except what I'd heard, and told her to take all of that with a grain of salt, since there was a chance I didn't understand it properly. We ended up just talking about me and why I thought the women's charity would be a good match for us when setting up this women's group. It was alright, and interesting, and in a sense I'm the one who'll probably end up running the project anyway, if it gets off the ground and I stay with the charity. But I couldn't tell her any actual information about what the guy in charge of our organisation was looking for, or could offer, or what funding was available or anything. So we ended up just shaking hands and saying we'd have to reschedule, to discuss what we could ACTUALLY do and look at setting up. The man I was waiting for never showed up, or called either of us. I was meant to be going back to the office to continue some website stuff I'd started last week, but - I ended up just going home, since the office was shut anyway when I went down there. I emailed the man last night just to say I'd had the meeting and it'd have to be rescheduled and when did he want me to come in again. But he's not replied or texted or anything, and no-one from the office has gotten in touch about the whole 'missed meeting' thing either.

So...I'm kind of in limbo and confused about that. I mean, it's disorganised and I should be a little annoyed I know, but I just can't think what might have happened. A few weeks ago I was meant to go in for something, but the guy called me and said he'd cracked his ribs, so he'd have to cancel those events. I've seen him since then, so I don't think he's still sick, but when he WAS sick he called. I can't really imagine why he wouldn't call or text, or reply to MY text, or email. Or why the entire office would be shut. So yeah. I'm kind of worried there's been some sort of emergency, but you know, there's no actual evidence to suggest that either. I saw my service worker today and told her all about it, and she said she'd try to pop in to the office when she's in Wakefield tomorrow, and see if she can find anything out. But yeah. It's weird. I've just looked up some of their websites, and there's no news on any of them either, so...?? Hopefully I'll be hearing from them later in the week as well, and finding out what happened, and probably going in to volunteer again. But yeah. Idk.

It's probably for the best that I didn't end up having to go into the office yesterday though. I don't know if it was a distinct lack of sleep on Sunday night or the weird period I've been having that's mostly making me feel nauseous, but I was weirdly ill on the way back home from Wakefield. I feel fine now - a bit wobbly today, but mostly fine. So I don't know. WHAT A STRANGE DAY.

I saw a footballer today called Eden Hazard. A man who obviously missed his calling as a superspy.

On another random note; why don't New Look make cardigans with the same prints as their socks. Look at these, and these. I would wear those as cardigans in a heartbeat. Instead I have to wear them on my feet, usually under trousers, where no-one is likely to see them, and New Look's cardigans look like this. I mean, they're nice, but are they as exciting as they could be? No.

My nose has been aching for about two days for reasons I can't understand. You know in TV shows when someone's nose is broken and they touch the bridge of it and go 'aah'? It's like that. Except I haven't broken it, as far as I know, or bumped it at all. I'm a little concern all my cartilage is about to collapse, like Daniella Westbrook's. Maybe the cold weather has been making me sniff more than usual. More than I ever have previously in cold weather. When I slept face down the other night my nose really hurt, so I thought it might be that? But I've slept face down before, for many nights in a row, without it making my nose hurt. So I don't know. Hmf.
