Jan. 22nd, 2012 08:48 pmSo apparently SOPA and PIPA have been shelved. But now there's something called ACTA to worry about, which is apparently basically SOPA, but worse. And it's been floating around the world's governments for some years now, and a bunch of them have already signed to it, and apparently the EU is set to do so any day now. I don't even. It would be nice if people would just stop fucking with the internet. I'd love to do something against ACTA, but sadly the most I sort of feel capable of giving to activism at the moment is signing petitions or sending pre-written emails, and I've already signed the one (quite unhelpfully written) petition there apparently is. Also I'm finding it quite hard to work out what's going on and when with ACTA, or who I should contact if anyone. Which is pretty annoying. And just sort of horrible. Sigh.
In other news, the gender/sexuality confusion (of mine) in Saints Row 2 seems to have been cleared up as well. Yesterday I'm pretty sure I found a gay bar - it was called Cocks, and the only people in there were men and two female bartenders. I invested in it immediately, obviously. I also drove round to see if there were any gay bars filled with women, but no luck sadly. I guess one is enough for them. And today I was looking around a strip club, and found one (non-stripper) woman standing in a corner seemingly watching the dancers. And then I did an activity involving female hookers and clients around in the back of a car avoiding news vans and private investigators and such, and one of the clients I picked up was a woman. So apparently Saints Row 2 is a place where it is also just fine and dandy to be gay. Which is nice. They still need a gay bar for women though. For reals.
I am also quite pleased about Saints Row 2 today because, even though ( Spoilers for the main storyline ), which was kind of sad, I did manage to complete one of the quite hard side-activities all the way to level 6. Which was lovely. Also, my character came out of that quite sad part saying "I wonder where [another character] gets her hair done", which was INAPPROPRIATE, DARCY. INAPPROPRIATE. Also I fell slightly in love with a French woman who is the widow of a guy my character killed. We went spraying sewage on the buildings of a mutual enemy. Darcy and my's talent for destruction 'made her jaded heart sing'. It was win.
That is pretty much all my news. La.
