I went to see Deadpool 2. The royal wedding was on and the FA final was on, and I went to see Deadpool 2.

I had a haircut today. Hurray. I actually quite liked how it looked, but I really can't bear it on my neck when it gets warm, and now that the weather's gotten more summery I figured it was time to get in. And now it is short. Hurrah.

I will probably finish Far Cry 5 today. I need to get to 10,000 resistance points to force a confrontation with the current, final area boss, and I currently have 9900. And then I am told - by a man at work who knew I was playing and is also playing it, and kept trying to talk to me about/around how it ended, despite me repeatedly asking him to stop - but I am told it is over pretty quickly after that. A part of me doesn't want to finish it - partly because there's still a lot of side stuff today, and a big beautiful world to keep wandering round. But I probably should, and see what the story actually is and how optimistic I've been about what it might be, and be free from the risk of spoilers forevermore. I think it will probably be dark. But we'll see. Also, I still have no idea who I am in this game. Do I live there? Do people know me? Do I have a house I've just never been to since things kicked off? Do I have a dog no-one is looking after while I run around the woods? Because I'm part of the Hope County Sheriff's Department, and the map is supposed to be all of Hope County. So...what? Where? Also, a lot of locations pop up on your map as you go through the game and explore. Not one of them has been a Sheriff's department. There's been a jail. We have a jail. Maybe the Sheriff's department is based out of the jail? But that seems like a terrible idea. Maybe we are based just outside of the map. It doesn't make a lot of sense. But that is Far Cry. They had a whole country with basically only one town in the last game.

Infinity War is out next week. It looks so boring. Just a lot of people I don't care about, having feelings I don't care about. But I will probably go and watch it, to see what happens to Peter Quill and Gamora. Annoyingly, I think it will be busy, so I will probably have to fight to see it if anything. My least favourite way to see films. But at least I will know spoilers. Sigh. On the other hand, Deadpool 2 looks super good. I get more excited for it every time a new trailer comes out. Maybe it was worth sitting through the basic and slightly boring first film for. I didn't realise Cable was going to be a villain in this, and Domino looks great.

And then after that things are looking pretty happy. We're almost into May, at which point we have 2 long weekends to enjoy - then Detroit: Become Human is out - and then it's June, and I have a week booked off for E3 again. And we will see what people announce that I can get excited for and obsess over then. I think it's going to be a big one this year. Bethesda's supposed to have a new series starting, which might be coming out this year, going up against Red Dead Redemption 2. All the signs point to them announcing Cyberpunk 2077 again, and possibly releasing it soon. It feels like Rocksteady might announce their game finally - fingers crossed it's Superman - and they'll probably announce Borderlands 3 as well. I am excite. I might be disappointed, but I am excite.

I went to see Deadpool today. It was pretty good? It's like - I have no complaints about the movie, it was really well done and well acted, and really funny. But I think maybe it suffered from a pretty unoriginal storyline - with a character like Deadpool, it'd be nice to have the movie be really unpredictable, to have no idea what's going to happen next or how it's going to end. And by about a third of the way through the story you basically do. It's basically just The Superhero Story. Although it was done in a lot of ways you don't normally see, which was lovely - but you're still in no doubt about where it's going. I guess they were introducing the character more than a new story - but plot defines character/character drives plot. I guess I was just expecting a lot. And it is clearly only the first part of a new series. It just didn't quite live up to my expectations. But it was still really good, really enjoyable. And it was interesting to see a movie that was so fourth-wall breaking. And Blind Al was awesome. It is very violent though - I was extremely surprised by the 15 rating when I saw it on the Cineworld website, and again when I saw the film. But still. It's a good film, if a little more pat than I was expecting.
