Jul. 11th, 2015 11:14 pmWent to the annual proms concert tonight. The evening was mostly taken up with rain and my ON's drama with another boy who was there who goes to his school - apparently there is always drama whenever they get near each other. He came up to us telling us this boy had hit him with a stick, then we saw him running up to this boy and pushing him, and then each of them chasing the other one with their respective gang of friends over the course of the night. Finally I went up to this kid, who seems a bit cheeky but perfectly pleasant, and asked him if he couldn't just stay away from my ON, if all they were going to do was fight. I promptly got in trouble with my ON for going up to this boy and laughing a little with him. I said "he's just a normal boy, [ON]", and he said "that's what you think!". As though this kid was some sort of supervillain. Spent the rest of the night mostly laughing with my mum because I couldn't remember the other kid's name for the life of me, kept calling him something else. But at least there were fireworks at the end of the night. I'm not sure I like where the proms concert is heading though. They kept having this soprano woman on to sing, and it felt very - singular? Instead of a lovely big orchestra playing for a lovely big crowd, and people singing along as and when they liked? I don't know, it just felt a bit less community-ish. And then when the fireworks were going off they put some music on that was so loud it hurt my eardrums, and probably distracted from the fireworks more than enhanced them. Maybe I'll write and give them my feedback. Or maybe I was just crabby from the cold, I don't know.
