I got post yesterday! I was temporarily the Queen of Post. Two packages. I opened one, then I still had one to open. It was great. One was books and the Decemberists from Amazon (yay!). The other was the long-awaited Draco and the Malfoys CD - in a nice little 'Sorry we have damaged your package' bag from Royal Mail. It all still plays okay though. I like 'In Which I Kick Harry Potter In The Face'. And so does my flatmate now, haha! Also, they put me in a nice little Christmas CD with a song by Harry and the Potters and a House Elf song on there to make up for it being sent late. Royal Mail didn't give me a present for damaging my package. A pound would have done! Hmph.

But more importantly: Life on Mars - THE LOOK ON SAM'S FACE WHEN HE WAS GOING TO DIE!! THE LOOK ON GENE'S FACE WHEN SAM WAS ABOUT TO DIE!! 'You better do me soon after, because I'll KILL you if you don't' - OMG THE LOVE!!!! It cannot be denied! Oh, and the bit in the cupboard (after Annie's love-inducing story) when Sam talks about his dad (which is becoming more and more clearly a Big Issue in the series with every episode), and how he left him, and how much he loved him when he was young, and they never showed Gene's face because it would have been too obviously SHINING WITH LOVE, AND PROTECTIVE INSTINCTS! Omg. ::dead::

Next week's episode looks like it's going to make me cry. Unless it ends with Sam despairingly going off because he can't work with their ways, but can't hurt his friends, and Gene cleaning up the entire police force singlehandedly, then going after him. Yes. Hmm.

It was so very good last night! And when the shooting Sam moment came, I was all 'Omg, look at how much Gene cares really! Squee!'

Sam pfuh! What about his devastated face when he thought Gene was dead? EH? He was all in shock and he couldn't process it and he was clearly about to throw himself to his knees and gather Gene in his arms, only at that point Gene woke up. Bad Gene. I love Gene. He is sexy.

My housemates were getting very excited about this episode because I sold it to them as The One Where Gene And Sam Are Handcuffed To A Radiator, And Must Escape By Making Love Until The Combined Sweat Of Their Manly Writhing Lubricates Them Enough That They Can Slip Free. At first they didn't believe me, and then they saw the radiator and grew very excited. We all kept on expecting it to happen right until the end of the episode. Maybe it was cut for length. Perhaps it will be on DVD.

I would like that police woman if she didn't talk like a five-year-old talking to their pet rabbit all the time. Maybe she could go out with the journalist woman.

omg Gene and Sam and their mutually antagonistic love!

Oh, that was a beautiful moment too! So blatantly on the verge of shouting 'Not my gay cop lover!'. Gene is just generally a ruffian, verging on a rascal, in the not-having-sex-with-Sam stakes. When will he ever see the error of his ways? When?

Omg, you win at pimping. And possibly should write all cop shows ever. Write to the BBC. Show them your talent.

A Secret: I don't normally like Annie, in a 'noticing her at all' sense. Much with the 'talking/acting like a five year old'-ness. Which is why I liked the bit about jumping off a cliff with wine and her bra. Other people like her and think she should sleep with Sam (even the slashers), and I don't understand why, since it would blatantly be just very weird. And Sam would mostly be smiling pleasantly and idly wishing his whisky-drenched Gov would burst in and take him to hand. Yes.

The question of femmeslash came up on the comm the other day, and someone (jokingly) suggested an alternative storyline might have been that in Ep 4 Sam refused to take dancing Joni home, so Annie had to, and she ended up having the drug-addled sex. Which I probably find a more interesting idea than I ought to. Um. Yes.

::dances you with mutual antagonism!::

Hello! Stranger-who-and so on. Totally you can friend me. I enjoy it, and will friend you back, if you promise me more Sam/Gene squee. I so disheartened the other day on the comm when everyone posted to say they shipped Sam/Annie, rather than Sam/Gene.

So SO gay :D

There shall be Sam/Gene squee until you are probably quite sick of it. But... but... Sam/Annie?! Sam/Annie is quite cute, yes, but hugely, hugely predictable. And it is not Sam/Gene! Therefore not quite awesome enough!

Eeee, gay. Why is it not Monday yet? I hate you a little bit, BBC.
