Sea of Souls, Episode 6

I thought it was a bit rubbish, really.
However, I was watching it with my flatmate who used to watch it but does not have my insane love for Craig, and she wasn't impressed. So possibly I am being influenced against my will. Still. I thought it was a bit of an anti-climax for a 'finale'.
Chambers should have been evil. He has nice eyes. I would have been much more impressed had been evil, and charismatic, and powerful, and they'd had to actually do things to stop him. They could have still believed in magic. And he could have survived and come back to haunt them another day just the same. Then they would have had a nemesis, and that could have been Compelling. But now if he comes back he's just going to train Justine (because she's so powerful! And empathetic! And great!), and do intellectual, magic-knowing eyesex with Monaghan, and it's all going to be rubbish.
I choose to believe all of his behaviour is in fact a huge, overarching plot to seduce Craig somehow. Yes.
Craig was not nearly gay enough. And they made him wear a pullover, for no good reason (25!). And it may have looked slightly spiffing at random moments, but I still don't understand at all. Unless it's because he was, y'know, raped a couple of times last episode, and is trying to further downplay his shining beauty, since he's blatantly just too irresistable for words.
Also, he was far more intrigued by the mysterious man in black hanging around in the street than in Leah. Then knelt by MMiB (aka Alex) when he was ill in bed. He touched Leah, and still - nothing! Slashers: 10,000,001, People Who Think Craig is Straight (if they even exist): 0
Some other things:
All in all, a slightly disappointing episode, though it had its shining moments. And I didn't like Leah. I really don't understand how precisely she was the 'love of Chambers' life', when he's been alive for hundreds of years and known her nine months, after which she sent a demon after him to try to win him back. And since she was so very annoying. But, yes. Sea of Souls, done again for at least another year, probably. What will I do with my Saturday nights?
Am reading Jane Eyre. And I'm quite enjoying it. But I feel that since I'm on page 130, and I need to have all 450 pages finished by Monday night (as WELL as watching Life on Mars), I may need to finish it without the leisurely care I've been taking over the beginning. Hmph.
:;dances you all::

Some other things:
- We got to see the inside of Monaghan's house! Which was great! And where Craig should live.
- Craig has business cards! Eeee! :D
- "And Craig said, 'Let there be light', and there was light, and..." - eeeee! Even if it did go on for too long!
- "Are all parapsychologists this nervous around girls?" - no, he's just gay
- "I like a girl with a bit of spark..." - NO, YOU DON'T. You don't like any girls ever. Succubusses (?) have a hard time seducing you.
- "My relationships end all the time..." - if by this he means 'My angsty gay love affairs constantly end in tragedy', then yes, I agree. Otherwise - coming an episode after he said he's gone all his life without women throwing themselves at him - what, precisely, the fuck? Unless we're just to take it as proof he is gay, and has oh so many gay flings between cases, which we never see. Which I'm fairly okay with.
- "Are you saying you've been alive for hundreds of years...?" - he is a Time Lord.
- And precisely what numbers was Monaghan trying in that door before he remembered the bloody Golden Ratio? Which had been mentioned, all the time, throughout the episode? After which the building was named? Lord. Where is Craig's super-intelligence when you need it, hmm?
- They didn't mention anything about a DVD at the end. This made me sad :(
