I thought I might use some of my newfound free time to write some of the fic I keep telling myself I'm going to write, as per one of my new year's resolutions, and am once again floored by the sheer amount of rare fandoms I have. Omg. I might make a list. Or a poll. Or a post with pictures of all the omgarenttheysopretty?! people. Or just close my eyes and start typing. And next term I am doing modules in Creative Writing and Adaptation and Appropriation, so fic would be TOTALLY good preparation, yo. See what a good student I am.

[livejournal.com profile] aegflota, you know of Nathan Barley, don't you? What do you think of the viability of Nathan/Dan?

Hmm.

Things I have paid for but still don't have:

  • Draco and the Malfoys CD. Which was apparently not delivered the first time I gave them my address in December. And still isn't here two weeks after they emailed to get it again. I don't know how long things take to ship from America, though. I email for news, perhaps.

  • Fanfiction: The Democratic Genre. Totally for the course, yo. Safely on order from WH Smith, unless they CRUELLY WAIT till the day it is meant to be picked up and then phone to say its unavailable. As I suspect they quite like doing. Growl.

Speaking of rare fandoms, was reading Adrian Mole (the second one, I think), last night. I hate Pandora. But apparently want very much to slash Adrian with Barry Kent. ::headdesk::

Isn't the second book the one where Adrian goes through that ill-advised street thug phase? For, like, no reason whatsoever? And then a few books later, he advises Barry to start writing and Barry becomes a tremendous success and mocks Adrian in print? God, I love Adrian.

(And isn't Pandora just repulsive? But she's also just the sort of person Adrian would go for. It's beautiful. I really need to re-read those books.)

Yes! I just finished it last night, and I nearly actually squealed from joy! I almost wanted to not finish it, so I could tell myself stories in my head. He gets suspended for writing despairing poetry in the school toilets, and Barry and his gang 'call round for him'. A day later Barry says he can call him 'Baz'. And suggest he has 'leadership qualities' - which would clearly be for JOINT-leadership, with Barry. And Barry's house is the only place he feels relaxed. And he gets bored and wants to leave the gang because he's sick of Barry shoving his prawn balls down his trousers! Dude! I so need to read the rest of the books.

(Pandora omg yes! 'One forgets one is privileged' - ::foams at mouth:: But no, Adrian would not be Adrian without his inappropriate, above-his-station-and-all-good-sense love. I had such high hopes when he went off her...but no. Clearly it will take a rough bully-boy with a poetic soul to shag knock some sense into him...)

Aw, Pandora is such a darling bitch. <3 (Like Hermione, in a way.) I love Adrian Mole without reservations whatsoever, I re-read the books every now and then and try to forget I was Adrian when I was a teen. :)

She is a bitch, but she ain't my darling. Or at least not in this book. 'One forgets one is privileged' - it is a classic line, but it is WRONG! I seem to recalling liking her when she grows up though.

I really need to get the rest of the books - I adore them, and poor darling Adrian. He makes me roll my eyes, and then floors me with the love. Once my finances permit, perhaps...

Heh! I am the opposite - hate her young and I seem to recall love her in the latest one. Diversity, yo.

It is viable, as the entire show depends upon their reactions to each other

It really is, isn't it? I have problems trying to figure out how to get them near each other - am seriously considering the 'one day, Nathan and Dan woke up in bed together' cliche - but every time I watch I am floored by the slashiness. Nathan is just in love from day one, and Dan ends up obsessed, to the point of making him tape himself in his pants! I think they're both gorgeous, frankly. And that Nathan should bring Dan coffee at his Sugarape desk, and calm him down with sex! when Jonatton (another disturbing secret crush) gets him too stressed out. Yo.

Only if Nathan does that rapping thing that he did when he was in bed with Dan's sister.

Omg no! Rap of Doom, and Rachael Having to Cover Her Eyes and Turn the Sound Down! :;distress at the very memory::

Although Dan's reaction to it would be terribly amusing >:)
