After weeks of nothing happening with the room (or that's what it felt like), suddenly everything's happening with the room. A charity is coming to pick up the dressing table tomorrow, so I've had to empty it out and clear the top tonight - that stuff's all on my bed, and I can't really sleep with it there, so I'm boxing up all the stuff on the floor that's to go to charity or second-hand shops - I should probably hoover since the floor will be dusty, TOO DUSTY FOR A BEAUTIFUL MUSIC CENTRE, but the hoover's trapped behind many things in the garage - then I can put all the stuff from the top where the dressing table was, and all the stuff from the drawers where the charity shop stuff was - and then finally me and dad have to move the dressing table around the OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE, because I got it when I was a child and we've had a breakfast counter installed since then, and into the garage for pick-up tomorrow. AND THAT'S JUST TONIGHT. Tomorrow I'd really like to take some stuff to the shops to get rid of it, but we're also going to a pantomime at 2, and maybe having lunch in town? Don't know how serious mum was about that. But also I'd like to go to my local Argos and see if the chair I've picked out is locally available. It probably isn't, the website suggests it's not, but I'd like to double-check. Then I need to get mum to buy me the chair, because I can't afford to and it's on sale and the sale ends on Tuesday, and then I'll pay her back for it on Friday.

Phew. It seems like a lot, it probably isn't. The worst thing is having to tetris things around a single bedroom, because I don't really want to spread stuff out onto the landing or other bedrooms for any decent stretch of time.

Also at some point I'll be building those flatpack drawers, and seeing if the music centre actually fits on top of them. It probably won't. But that probably won't be this weekend at least. Unless I feel like I have the energy on Sunday.

But I'm happy it's all moving along obviously. Mostly what I'm learning is that I don't have infinite time, or money, or space. And the golden rule about money: once you spend it, you don't have it anymore. But I'm glad to be doing something.

I looked up films that are coming out this year, because I hadn't really heard anything I was excited by after Birds of Prey and Underwater, and the films that are out this year! A Candyman sequel? A Hitman's Bodyguard sequel?? Venom 2? And Bill and Ted, which I keep forgetting about. It seems like an excellent year for films.

I had to have a conversation/'debate' with my boss today about whether saying someone's a 'white, priviliged male' is just as racist as saying something racist to a POC. I didn't enjoy it.

Yay for room progress though! That's great that things are moving along, and I hope that the changes made to the room will be quite awesome in the long run. ♥

A beautiful new music centre! That's so cool? Is it shiny or matte? (I know there are more important considerations like sound quality, but I like to envision how things look.)

Matte, I think? It's this one, so fake wood and old retro look. V expensive, but v lovely too, and sounds just as good. I almost killed it already. Tell no-one.
