I went to see Black Panther. And I'm glad I did, partly for support reasons, because I looked at the times for it yesterday and it looked like there weren't as many as there usually are for a new Marvel release, but I thought it was just because they'd weirdly split it up into Dbox, Audio Described and stuff. But today there were nowhere near as many people in the theatre as you would normally see on the opening Saturday of a new Marvel film. But also, because it was really good. I'd put it on a level with the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, that good. And Shuri was as good as everyone says she is.

Some questions remained, like "Why would you even need to say black panther, it would be like saying yellow and black leopard, a panther is just a black leopard, being black is it's defining feature, you don't really need to say it", and "where was Killmonger's mother, did she even exist? There was a good reason they might not have just 'taken the boy'", and "isn't that a small enclosure to keep a rhino in?". It had Martin Freeman in it, and some of the fight scenes looked a little awkward, and like they were cutting away a little too quickly from them so you couldn't see what really happened, like they hadn't really tried. But mostly it was just really good.

My favourite thing about it was that it clearly took place just a few - weeks? Days? After the end of Civil War. Where T'Challa ended up stood outside, looking at the man who'd killed his father, while Tony, Steve and Bucky fought it out inside over Tony's dead mother, and said he could see that the desire for revenge was destroying them in there, and he was done letting it destroy him. And then he came back to Wakanda, where NO-ONE ELSE HAD LEARNED THAT LESSON. I expected so much of the film to be about him trying to explain to people the lesson he'd recently learned.

And Steve Rogers must have been there. That was a thing, wasn't it? Him hiding in Wakanda, where Tony couldn't find him? He must have been there, in the back. Whistling. Trying not get involved.

Interesting about what you were noticing there with Black Panther's opening. Over here in the US, it had a ton of show times and the cinema I saw it in on Saturday was packed (and I preordered my tickets, and a lot of the shows were sold out!). Maybe it is a film that's going to vary audience-wise from country-to-country. I really enjoyed the film though! Probably one of my favorites from the MCU (Shuri was amazing!). I'm glad you liked it too! XD

...Yeah, you'd *think* Steve Rogers should have been there in Wakanda. I want him to show up there in Infinity War being all "I was hiding in the bushes the WHOLE TIME!" O_O;
