Just got my reading list for the 'Gothic Revival' module in September, and one of the required texts is the scripts for Season 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Dude! This module may very well rule. Also, I already have Frankenstein because we read it for year one, so ::dances::

I went to get some H.P. Lovecraft from my local library today, and they CRUSHED MY DREAMS by not having it in. They did not even tell me when it would be back. However, they did have nice encyclopedias that told me things about Alaska. Apparently it has three cities that are the smallest in the US in terms of population, and the largest in terms of area - yo. Juneau looks lovely - it is between a harbour and some huge mountains, and is quite sunny in summer. I think Francis and Spangler should wander around there for a bit before setting out on their expedition thing, and Francis can be slightly 'omg, he dragged me out here...but I AM seeing new things'. Also, apparently military schools teach you basic strategy and tactics, which could be fun. I am learning while I fic! :D

I woke up this morning at 8, and then accidentally slept till 9:30. I was working at 10. Woe. But I was only fifteen minutes late, because I don't do that much to make myself look presentable, hurrah! But I walked in the rain, for many minutes, and as soon as I got in the ass. manager (don't joke, freaks) said 'well, as you're already wet, can you go get some rubber bands?'. Growl. But I took my time looking at magazines and filofaxes, so I feel avenged. I think I should have a filofax. I would definitely be organised and happy and pretty then. It should be a red filofax. Yes.

My WH Smith also had Terry Pratchet novels in fancy new 'adult' covers that are pretty. Oddly enough, when my manager lady talked about them yesterday I was not that bothered, but I am now! I wish I was not a whore for covers. But yes. Also they had a little book by Machiavelli. And King Lear. And I can order the Sheenagh Pugh book there if I want to. And my shop has a Janet Evanovich book for £2, though it is a late one, which I have been meaning to read forever, and I HAVE ENOUGH BOOKS DAMMIT!!

Also, you should all so totally go look at this, if you haven't already. My personal favourite: Senor Draco. It made me giggle in the supermarket, and it will MAKE YOU GIGGLE TOO!!

I love the hp summaries so hard. My favourite is still:

Five years after the final battle, Harry is the star cellist of the London Philharmonic.

It is just such a summing up of why fanfic rocks good, in just a beautiful one line.

Terry Pratchett didn't have adult covers already? Are they repackaging them so people don't have to look like they're reading fantasy? I might cry. I'm overly emotional.

Red is good for a filofax. Red is good. Red.

You did Alaska research! ::BLESSES YOU::

'So Harry, you've defeated the Dark Lord. What are you going to do now?'
'I'm going to the London Philharmonic! My first love!'

;D

But the wereflamingo one has a special place in my heart too ::pets::

He had those crazy cartoony covers. They still look fantastical - the one I like has a book with golden runes flying into it and whatnot - but mostly black, and square, and boxlike, and omg ::licks:: But ::puts tears back where they came from!::

::dances knowledge of Alaska:: It wasn't a state until 1959! At the northernmost point between May and {some time in autumn} the sun never sets! I thought I should know more about it than just 'place with snow'

I need a dancing icon.
