This tumblr post pretty much sums up my entire feelings about the EU referendum.

Also this post is a nice round-up of a few confusing, frightening, and hilarious things that have happened in the wake of the result.

Mostly the way the referendum has affected me - outside of how annoying and depressing it is, and being now worried about the future of the economy when I'm really going to have to look for a job soon - is that I've been arguing with my dad more. Some interesting opinions I've learned he holds: that human rights in Britain will be okay because we ended slavery, that nuclear weapons keep us safe, and that no-one will try to chip away at human rights for profit because 'people aren't devils'. Also, as usual, he thinks I have no opinions of my own, or that I'm willing to lie about them, because I only argue with him to spite him. He's a cock.

I am caught up with Emmerdale though. Nicola and Jimmy are gods.

Actual gods? Because that would be an interesting step for a soap to take.

I am sorry about your father.

And alllllll the politics.

I wish very much that the nearly 50% of people who didn't want to leave europe hadn't fucking voted for a fucking party that wanted a pointless stupid irresponsible fucking referendum in the first place. that would have been nice.

There was a very strong implication they had a vibrator in last Friday's episode, and were going to use it to fuck in every room of a house. I don't know about magic powers or whatever, but I feel very much they should be deified in terms of soaps.

I want to tell my dad that he is naive, which he really is - but he thinks I'm the idiot idealist, so if I ever actually said that it would start an argument that we would never stop having.

You make an excellent point. It's pretty shit all around. And now the Labour Party want to have a vote of No Confidence in Jeremy Corbyn, which frankly gives me no confidence in the Labour Party. But then I really don't remember the Remain campaign really actually doing very much before the referendum - possibly because they thought it was just self-evident why we shouldn't leave. So I don't know.
