I really need blackout blinds for my bedroom. I've been awake at 7am every morning this week, and been unable to get back to sleep. And MAYBE that's because I spend the time thinking about Let's Players and Coronation Street characters in compromising positions - but less sunlight will probably help.
I think I must also have been really hot in bed last night, because I had a dream about going for a jog in just my pyjamas, and running through a bunch of car parks where people were being treated for heat exhaustion by paramedics - and some people's hands had fallen off? And I saw at least one body whose arms and legs had fallen off, and the rest of them had obviously withered in the heat. This might have had something to do with the dummies they had in kickboxing class last night though.
My kickboxing instructors have invited me to be assessed for my first belt on Saturday. Which is not bad really, considering I've only just started and have no belt at all. They seemed to think I'd achieve it easily - but I do work until 1 on Saturdays, and the examination's at 2, and it would mean asking my mum to clean all my kickboxing gear - since for one reason or another it's hard for me to do - for this Saturday. And then again for next Wednesday! When she already runs around making sure my nephews have their football kits and school clothes ready all the time. This is half the problem with developing new hobbies - even outside the actual work of class and just getting there, there's so much extra workload that I know I can't do on my own, and it feels horrible to put it on mum. Like, even if I was comfortable doing a wash on my own - I haven't ironed in years and would be really worried about ruining my brand-new kit, and then it's making sure I'm not getting in the way of mum's washing routine or taking up space she needs on the clothes horse or something. But it would be nice to have a belt - I'm pretty sure I can do all the work, and if I don't do it on Saturday I'll have to wait another two months for the next chance, and why put it off? But it is a lot of extra work.
