I'm so sad. I really miss Deidre which is weird because she's annoying, but I'm really sad she won't come back.

I know, it's just weird. She was a nice foil to people like Peter when he was being an arse, and - whatever I think of William Roache - really good at popping Ken's weird pretentious balloons. It's just really odd thinking she'll never be in it again. I can't believe she was in it for 44 years - basically her whole life. Thanks Anne.

I wonder how they'll handle it onscreen.

I was thinking about that, and I suspect they'll just have her die off screen but I think it would be really nice if they kept her alive and just every now and then we found out about her having a really exciting happy life without Ken. I think partly because I feel sad about her having had to be married to Ken all the time when she was so much nicer without him.
