Day 2 of my replay of the first 12 levels of my character. UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I started a new game after 'uploading' my custom backstory, played through the prologue, and then asked a few pertinent questions of my companions. I was all "What year is it? Who's the prime minister! Tell me!". And their answers were different and in line with what I'd set up, so eh. Yeah, I need to do the game again to see it play out in the world I already decided on. But I am excited enough to do that to be able to put up with replaying - 40 hours of it. It's just a slog.

On the one hand, I know where everything is and the solution to all the puzzles, so some of it should be quicker. And the random item drops are random enough that it's become like playing a whole new game. On the other hand, it's hard to remember exactly when I did things before, so what level I should wait till before attempting them. Essentially, it's hard to quickly get to the level of completion I was at before when I didn't complete everything all at once. And so much of it is grinding (adj: the process of doing simple, repetitive tasks over and over again to build up resources, which may be the only way to complete certain quests). ENDLESS GRINDING. And I already did it once, but it's hard to be like 'I just won't do it this time around!' when there's a chance doing that grinding is what allowed me to finish quests and get to the level I was at before.

It's fine. Just a little frustrating. And I keep overlooking things - I knew there was a type of potion I had early on last game and I couldn't find it this game, and it turns out it was sold by a merchant and I just haven't been looking at what merchants are selling this game, because I know most of the time you'll find stuff that's better.

Also there was a quest I got last time, and I'm pretty sure I've done everything I need to do to trigger it this time, and it hasn't triggered. I probably just haven't done everything though, I'm very good at assuming the game is glitched when in fact there's something I haven't done. Hopefully, anyway. It was one of the better quests so far.

Apparently they've said that Hawke (protagonist of Dragon Age 2) and the Warden (protagonist of Dragon Age: Origins) have both disappeared, the writers have said 'their stories are over'. Which makes sense given the sheer variety of Wardens and Hawkes they might have had to write for. But there are a couple of endings in DA:O that involve your Warden becoming King or Queen. So did the King/Queen of Ferelden just disappear into the ether? Might have to look up other storylines, when I'm no longer in danger of being spoiled, to see how they handled that.

So Tumblr's apparently being run by people with links to the KKK. Who knew?
