My sister told us to be down at 4 yesterday, we ended up going at half past, but the food wasn't on the table until 6. It was nice though, and the kids were really good at all sitting down together. Sadly, it still ended in an argument, which I was half-expecting since that's usually what happens when my dad and sister are in a room together. As usual, he wanted to criticise, she didn't want to hear it but did want to argue about it, they both ended up screaming, and my mum decided she couldn't take anymore so we all went home. It was something to do with money, and as it turned out they were both right because of something my mum had forgotten about, but, well. Essentially the only two mothers in our family are my sister and my mum, and my sister got yelled at then walked out on after cooking dinner for eight, and my mum ended up getting the blame for the argument thing because she'd forgotten about whatever it was. And that was Mother's Day.
Anyway. I've got my new service worker coming around tomorrow. Mum's working and it's in the afternoon, so it'll just be me and her. It seems a bit frustrating to have to start again from scratch, but hopefully it'll still be more consistent than my first one. Then on Friday I'm going to London. They should consider changing the days of the week to Fridy, Mondy, etc. It looks neater. Anyway, I am hoping to get my hair done before then because it's been bugging me for a while, but I'll just have to see if the salon has any openings.
The one good thing you can say about the stupid Carla-Peter-Tina storyline right now is that at least you can tell really easily that Peter genuinely loves Carla, and is just sort of stringing Tina along. Not even in the scenes where he rolls his eyes or whatever, but in every scene with Carla you can see that he loves her and is serious about her, and he's not like that with Tina. Chris Gascoyne is playing it really really well. Unfortunately, he's playing an asshole really really well, so it's still hard to be happy about it.
I did know about the Tina being pregnant thing, because of spoilers screamed from the front of soap mags. Since I don't think Coronation Street would have the guts to kill her off while she's pregnant - and I personally don't think they should - my prediction is that Peter will ask Carla to keep quiet about her pregnancy, then spin Tina some line about how he's not ready to be a father again, it'll just make the situation too complicated, they can have kids but later, and just basically that he can only leave Carla if she gives him enough time, and has an abortion. Then when she does, he just dumps her, and then she finds out Carla's pregnant, and he puts pressure on her not to say anything, because she can't try to wreck his marriage when there's a baby involved. I think we all know he would. But obviously she's still on the verge of telling everyone everything, and it's around then that she gets killed.
This would be shitty behaviour from Peter, but otherwise I genuinely can't see them setting it up so anyone in the audience would believe Peter would just kill his pregnant young mistress to keep their secret from getting out. Like, he's bad, but is he that bad? Plus it would keep Carla out of the loop so she can't be a suspect, which would be nice this time around. And it might give Tina a motive to get more fixated on her surrogate son Jake again, which would bring in the Windass-Armstrong's. And I genuinely don't understand their storyline unless it's just a contrivance to make them desperate, so when the murder rolls around they look like plausible suspects for whatever reason. Getting involved with a shady deal with a shady guy they've already had a run-in with? Then being surprised when it gets shady? Don't make me laugh. Plus Owen saying he and Gary have to keep their heads down, then setting up a scam despite Gary's protests, then blaming Gary when it all goes wrong? If he's not heading for an explosion, then I don't know what's going on. I hope he does pickaxe that guy in the head. Then doesn't have an alibi for Tina's murder, and gets arrested for that.
Also, Katy annoys me frequently, but her jumper tonight was amazing.
I hope Rita solves Tina's murder. With help from Emily. And maybe Norris because of his love for Rita, and probably Roy. Like a beautiful, Northern episode of Miss Marple. It would be great. ALTHOUGH OH GOD DAVID SHOULD HELP. He doesn't seem to care much anymore, but nnnnnnnnnnnn. HE WOULD HELP SO GOOD.
I can't find a lick of Daniel/Eli slash from There Will Be Blood on Tumblr, although they do do some beautiful gifsets. I'm assuming I don't know the magic shipname password. Probably. Probably that's it.

Date: 2014-04-02 07:11 pm (UTC)I also love your murder solving old folk idea, although part of me thinks it would be great if Rita killed her. Just because it would be Unexpected. And because Rita would be great in prison. Mostly I just want Tina to die quickly because she is SO ANNOYING TO ME and I want Peter to piss off not being good enough for his amazing wife and I continue to want good things for Carla and oh god I love that she's pregnant and I feel guilty for loving that she's pregnant becuase her life would be super easier if she wasn't, but I love her.
and I can't remember if I ever commented back about Julie being a witch because I'm terrible at commenting but oh god she would be amazing.
