girlofpreySo. I guess Olivia won't be joining up with Ryan, as part of a "Non FBI Agents Against Joe Caroll" team then. Oh well.
Still not doing so good with your non-white characters, The Following. I appreciate that the lady you made a back-up tech woman is black though. Good going. I guess.
I did hugely enjoy the scene between Ryan and Joe in the parking garage though. With Joe jabbering while desperately trying to come up with an excuse not to kill Ryan. It's probably the first time I've seen Joe have proper emotion over Ryan, that wasn't just obviously condescending or to annoy him. It was quite nice.
I can't entirely believe Ryan though. Joe was standing there, basically telling him he couldn't kill him yet, and Ryan had JUST been shouting that Joe could kill him instead of Olivia, or just plain old kill him. And yet he didn't try to, I don't know, just rush Joe right then and there? That idea didn't occur to him until he was only with a henchman, I guess. Also, the henchpeople must be so pissed off about Ryan. I can only assume they didn't expect him to be as good as he is, because otherwise I can't see them signing up to deal with their boss' boyfriend all the time, without being able to kill him. Unless they know he's Joe's boyfriend, and they love Joe THAT MUCH.
Ryan's bizarre lack of smarts is still sort of coming in second to Joey though. I guess he's known Emma for a long time and is used to just trusting her. But in the past week? Or so? He's been told that his serial killer dad is good, cops are bad, and has found out that the people he's now hanging around with sometimes keep women in cages. And has not apparently seen any reason to not trust the people he's with. Oh Joey.
Also we haven't bothered finding out if Paul is okay. I guess those stomach stabwounds are taking a LONG time to heal. I can only assume we won't see him or Jacob again until the finale, when they come back with furious vengeance and are all "EMMA, WHAT THE FUCK?".
And Joe has a LOT of followers. Holy shit. Do they all get a chapter? Have we stopped bothering with chapters anymore? Is this the series' gentle way of telling us that this really is only the end of 'part 1', and we're going to have four more seasons before anything actually gets resolved? Kudos for showing not telling, if so, I guess.
