girlofpreyAlso, for some reason Change.org isn't letting me tweet about these, so I just wanted to link to some petitions I have been looking at lately.
This one is about trying to get the UCLA to end/stop ignoring/apologise for the racial discrimination against one of their (three out of two hundred) African-American doctors working there, by his colleagues and superiors. There's a video on the petition page that describes exactly what's been happening, although I would warn that some of it's pretty shocking.
And there was another one, but it seems to have closed now. It's about CeCe Mcdonald, a black trans woman who was attacked by a group of white people, stabbed one of them to death in self defense, and has now been sentenced to jail for it. The one I signed was about making sure she was sent to a women's prison, not a male one, but there seems to be four more now calling for her pardon. They're here, assuming search results show up in a link - if they don't you can go to change.org and search for "CeCe Mcdonald", or possibly google her, at this point.
