AND WE ARE TWO FOR TWO. On jerks I hate leaving the show. Yeah, we did also have to lose Gabrielle in the middle, who I really quite liked. But it's not like her business acumen was ever particularly there. It's not like she ever really was much of a shoe-in to get to the final. But yes, Adam left. After being a bit useless, again. Hurray.
I watched a bit of You're Fired afterwards as well, mostly just because we left it on. I knew that I found him pretty sexist because of some of his comments, and the way he treated most of the women in the process. But I had apparently missed the episode where he said that really, it was obvious that the people who really knew what they were doing in cooking and hairdressing (and presumably everything else) were men. And then he 'stood by those comments'. And claimed he was a real gentleman, so he couldn't be sexist. What an absolute twat. It's a shame they can't beat people over the head with cushioned baseball bats on You're Fired, when they say something terrible. Ugh.
The real revelation for me last night though was Nick, the small guy with the floppy hair. He always seemed quite nice and quite on the ball, if a bit blah. But I thought he and Jade worked really well together, and somehow, he decided that overall she was a worse candidate than Adam. And that most of the good things she'd done were really a result of HIS work. And - it's weird because I don't actually like Jade that much. I judge her for being weird about Tom when she was PM and her team failed the task, and she's a bit screechy, and she was a bit useless with figures last week. But I genuinely thought Nick liked her, or could work with her, or respected her work more than ADAM'S. But apparently not. Unless he really was playing a game, like they said in the boardroom before he came back in. Hmm.
Anyway, so the final is on Sunday, and I've said way more about it than I kind of intended to. Except about how Adam is a twat. And we have a final four. And I have absolutely no idea who I think should win. Or lose by the least. Jade is a bit rubbish sometimes, Nick seems really wishy-washy now after last night, after he didn't bother to stick up for his own ideas or make sure the benefit of his experience got through to his team. Tom I still quite like, but he's been a bit rubbish for the last few weeks, while he's been PM. I just see a lot of weirdness with him, and sort of...insecurity? Like he's quite good working FOR people, and doing background things for them. But when it's up to him to lead he seems to get nervous quite a lot, and even when he sees problems, he doesn't do anything to fix them, or seem to know how to fix them. Like last night when he said the packaging looked a bit boring, but he went with it anyway. I think he gets quite insecure about putting anything of himself into tasks. Which is probably not going to work when he's in charge of a whole business proposal himelf. He should go back to running his other multi-million pound business. Apparently he's very good at that. Or they should let him work for whoever does win.
So that just leaves Ricky Martin, who does seem pretty good at his tasks a lot of the time, and like a decent guy quite a bit of the time too. Or more decent than some of the other people in the show. The bit last week where he told Steven to stop being to condescending was AMAZING. But even he's made some bad mistakes, and it would sort of feed into his whole 'I am the alpha male in any situation' thing from the beginning of the show, which I DON'T WANT. But he does seem like the best of the bunch. By a slight margin. So yes. He is who I'd lay my bets on, I guess.
I've talked way more than I really care about it. I don't think Tom should win. I think he would really love it, and then it would go really badly for him. GO BACK TO RUNNING YOUR OTHER BUSINESS, TOM.
Meanwhile, on Springwatch, they're doing a running story on a fox family with eleven cubs this week, living in someone's garden. I love fox cubs. They are probably my favourite baby animal. I put them even above wolf cubs. They have huge ears and are orange. So it is really quite pleasing for me.
