League of Gentlemen yay!

Rewatched some of League of Gentleman series 1 last night. It is so very fabulous, as I always knew. I will not quote lines. But I never noticed how weird/kinky/slashy it all is! And even the het is slightly slashy because omg they are really men. I must have been too young to pick up on it when I first watched, all those years ago. But why did no-one tell me? ::hates you all::
Benjamin and his 'friend' so clearly going up into the hills to do tentsex. Ross and Pauline have some weird, master/slave-type tension going on. And Harvey Denton I think on some level rather enjoys having his slothful, dirty, 'self-indulgent' nephew round to stay. Very keen to show him his toads, at any rate. And don't Tubbs and Edward smearReece Benjamin in chocolate sauce, dress him in a skimpy jungle skirt and 'give him' to David at some point? Hmm.
Sometimes I worry that one of my main reactions to LoG is 'Reece so pretty!'. That I'm being shallow and ignoring the comic genius omg. But then I think that I make up for it in that the character's of his that I don't outright fancy I often forget are Reece at all - surely a sign of the great talent I assume is his, unless I am just being blinded by the prettyagain. The other actors' characters I watch and think 'oh, Mark Gatiss is good' or 'Steve is funny as Tubbs'. But Geoff and Bernice and Edward and Papa Lazarou just make me think 'omg Geoff/Bernice/Edward/Papa Lazarou!'. He is a good actor. And pretty. Then there is Judee, of course, who is sort of half-and-half. Oh dear. He does make a very pretty girl. Yay.
I want the DVD now. Dammit. Like I don't already want enough! But it has commentaries - I crave them like zombies crave brains!
I'm starting to worry about my DVD appetites, actually. I have so many. You cannot actually imagine. At least 60 - and some of those are box/season sets. More than enough to keep me entertained forever, but I hardly ever watch them, and no matter how many I have I want more. More! The Philadelphia Story! Green Wing (eventually)! Sleepy Hollow! Ginger Snaps (it's like Ghost World, but with werewolves)! But I never watch the ones I have, and never in a sit down, all-the-way-through fashion. I think I just like to have them, around, so that I know they're there if I ever do want to watch them. But is this passion or self-indulgence? Am I trying to keep a foot in lots of camps, rather than just settling down and committing myself to being a fan of one or two films? Do I, frankly, have too much money and not enough sense?
Hmm. I don't know. Possibly a 'pruning' of the DVD collection should take place - now that I can screencap my favourite shots/scenes and keep them with me 4 eva omg perhaps I can do without some of the actual films. And it would be nice to buy something other than DVDs once in a while. Perhaps...clothing, or...going outside. Hmm. Tempting ::does thinking about it...::
