Sometimes it seems like it's just okay for people to be casually racist and sexist and everything nowadays. I saw a bit of Have I Got News For You last night. Did anyone else see it? It started off with a woman whose name I can't remember saying that the government were being 'a bit like women, really' by changing their mind a lot over the NHS reform plans. And then Reginald D. Hunter(!!!), was the one who piped up to point out that was sexist. Although he did it with a bit of a smile on his face. I don't know if anyone likes Reginald D. Hunter on my flist, I used to really like him and find him quite funny a lot of the time, but I've also seen him be quite sexist on a number of occasions as well, which sort of put me off.

On a related, but not quite as awful note, today on the Adam and Joe show Adam said something pretty bad. He was messing about and pretending to be overly angry and Scottish, and suddenly called Joe a poof. And it was pretty obvious that he didn't really mean it and had just gotten a bit carried away, but it was still pretty shocking. There was like dead silence in the studio, and then he immediately apologised profusely, which was nice of him, and then they moved on and didn't dwell on it, which was probably for the best. And I think it was more of a big mistake than anything, and not really hateful, and I'm really more worried that he might get kicked off the air for it than desperate for him to be punished horribly for it. But still. It wasn't good.

But in slightly better personal news, our dog was having some problems yesterday, but seems a bit better today. He's 12 now, and over the past few months he seems to have been finding it harder and harder to get his back end up and stand up from laying down quickly. But yesterday he pretty much couldn't get up at all. My mum came into my room and found me awake, and was telling me about how when she came down and tried to feed him she'd had to hoist his back end up herself, and then he'd laid down on the floor in the garage. And then she'd had to get a towel and put it under his stomach and lift him to get him up off the garage floor. And all day basically, even when he clearly was trying, he couldn't get himself up and mum, me or dad had to lift him up. But today he's been managing to get himself up - it's clearly not easy and it takes him a little while, but he does do it by himself. We were worried, obviously, what the vet would be able to do for him if his back legs had given out, or if they'd be able to do anything for him. But now he's at least able to get up, we're hoping it was just a temporary problem, or he slept on them funny or something. Anyway. We'll keep checking to see if he's having problems again, but today at least he seems a bit better.

And now it's nearly time for the So You Think You Can Dance finale. I got the result I wanted last week anyway. Well, sort of. I would have preferred Matt and Lee B to be in the final, but given how good Luke is and how much the judges love him, that was almost certainly not going to happen. And I like Matt better than Lee B. I have no idea if he's the best dancer - to be honest, I have a real problem judging people, especially in the later stages of a competition, when I love them, I either feel like I'm ignoring their flaws because I love them, or I'm being overly-critical to try to compensate for the fact I might be ignoring their flaws. But I do think he's good, and I really like him. I liked his and Katie's contemporary dance last week, and I think I might have liked it more if I could actually see all of it and the cameras weren't whizzing about constantly. But anyway. I'm glad he's in the final, essentially.

On Luke, I don't hate him, I just don't get a lot from him, and find him bit boring to watch compared to Matt and Lee. I can see that he's a really good dancer though, and I was actually pretty impressed with his dancing last week, for the first time. I'm just not a big fan of him as a performer, really.

And the girls - I totally liked Kirsty the best of those three, but I really didn't expect her to go through, after her not great couples dance and her solo. They just didn't seem as impressive as the other girls' dances. But I am certainly not complaining that she did, because like I said, I still liked her the best. And Katie went through, who I also like, even though I don't love her (no pun intended). I really liked Bethany's couples dance last week, again, but her solo and the group dance (in general, really), didn't really wow me.

So, apart from Lee, I basically got the final I wanted the most. Hurrah. And now I just need to go and find out when it is on.
