I have been watching more of Season 3 of The Office, having seen a Pam/Ryan fic on the current porn battle, and then a few episodes on Comedy Central HD. Between my slight humiliation squick and how badly things tend to turn out for everyone, I find watching the Office kind of hard going sometimes, but it's still good. I can't believe Pam ended up with Jim and didn't just run off with Ryan or Toby or Michael or Kevin though. In the episode before last Michael had to explain to Ryan that good managers hire and inspire people and people never go out of business, but that's not really fair because Ryan grew up in the Mafia, where they train you not to think of people as people. Because you never know when you might have to shoot one. At the end of this last episode Roy said he was going to kill Jim, and even though I think I've seen the episode after this one, and I know how the next few series turn out pretty much, I BARELY DARE TO DREAM.

It's here (http://oxoniensis.dreamwidth.org/35812.html?thread=5665252). Somewhat hideously, it's technically Jim/Pam/Ryan, with the kink being that she's sleeping around with other guys, with his knowledge. You can mostly just ignore the bits about Jim though, until the ending where she inexplicably doesn't just take off with Ryan.

HE WAS RAISED BY THE MAFIA, SARAH. They have different morals there. He might actually be doing really well by organised crime standards. The Mafia thing has sort of become canon for me now. I went on to watch the episode where Kelly is upset about Ryan laughing at her one time, and says the next time he thinks there is a murderer in his house in the middle of the night not to call her. And at first I thought "Oh?". And then I thought, "Ah, from a RIVAL FAMILY!". It's a slightly beautiful alternate version I am watching at the moment.

Maybe you have the ALTERNATE DVDS in which Roy successfully kills jim and it all goes a bit dark.

SADLY NOT. I don't even know if it would be that dark. Just that he would be dead, Roy would be in prison, and Pam would be sad. Maybe. Ish.
