The world is rubbish >:(
Mostly it's just irritating, because I know that Craig had the same amount of time as the other couples to train, and some ways it wouldn't be fair if he took more time off training than the others and still got put through just because he's AMAZING. But, he hadn't had as much training as the others, and he was a bit shaky, but he wasn't dreadful, and some bits were really good, and the performance as a performance was pretty great, and with actual hands on training he could have turned out to actually be great. But now he won't.
I'm not impressed with the way they've done the first two shows. Eight skaters each week, two out each week, and it's completely up to the public to pick who's in the show. They made it pretty clear that this is a qualifier and not the proper competition, so technically Craig and the other three who went out weren't actually in the show. And it seems like a pretty obvious, pretty shameless way to make sure the show gets the most votes it can, by making sure only people who are popular with the public are in the show.
I can't believe Dominic Corke went through. His performance was so nothingy. And I quite liked Comedy Dave's routine, but if they gave him a robotic dance because he is a bit stiff and they tried to make into a good thing, well, hurray for their creativity, but if he turns out to be rubbish and we lost Craig who might have been amazing, then I QUIT. I QUIT TV. WELL MAYBE.
Anyway. It was a bit weird, because they had a couple of really good skaters this week, and the ones who weren't that good were people who probably had quite a big following, like Denise Welch and Comedy Dave. It's just a shame, I was really looking forward to at least a few weeks of Craig McLachlan, and now he is gone. Maybe Torvill and Dean and Maria can go over to Australia and just make a show about teaching Craig to dance. Maybe that. Maybe I'll write a letter.
