Emmerdale

Matthew did quite an admirable job of hiding his gay love for Carl tonight. But yesterday Chas punched Carl in the face and Matthew caught him, and it was quite beautiful. And now Carl has moved out and their suprise younger sister and her suprise sister/aunt have moved into the big house, so Matthew will clearly be going over to Carl's house to get away and have sex a lot. Yes.

The interview

DISASTER THE FIRST: Finding the place. It turns out the bus I had found that goes right to a street near the building only runs until about 8 o'clock in the morning. Having given myself only an hour's notice to get their, I decided to just go in a taxi. Except that he didn't know where it was either. He said he'd just take me to the town and I could give him the next direction there. I explained that I had never been to the town and didn't know where this place was, and said okay, and then about five minutes later said that he would take me to the town and then I could give him the next directions there. Eventually I asked for a map, and we figured out we'd gone sort of the wrong way, but eventually found it. It was quite nice of him actually, the fare was about £12.80, but he said I only had to pay £10. Although, in a way it was fair enough because I told him the road I wanted was just off the A609 so if he just stayed on that we should be fine, and he BLATANTLY went off it at one point. But anyway, I got there.

And it was sort of fine. They suprised me with an application form and I spent about half an hour filling that in, trying to remember contact names and addresses. Then I went in with the woman, who really was lovely, and we just had sort of a talk. She slightly asked what it was like to work in a probation office and a mental health clinic. I said sometimes quite upsetting and stressful, but I just tried to keep a cool head. Anyway. I think I did alright. No massive silences, anyway, except for one questions about what I would have done differently at any of my jobs. I didn't really want to say "Nothing, I DID WHAT THEY ASKED AND NEEDED OF ME". We sort of agreed that month-long jobs aren't really long enough to go thinking up too many new ways of doing things. I may have accidentally suggested that I COULDN'T POSSIBLY LEAVE MY CURRENT JOB FOR ANOTHER MONTH, which is not true, and could hold me back if they need someone soon. But the agency ought to explain that, I suppose. But generally I think it went quite well, for a 'first ever real interview'. I should hear back by tomorrow.

My bread has gone mouldy and I forgot to get new. Woe.

Good luck! The interview sounds like it went well. They should hire you, I would.

Your taxi driver is rubbish and that is sad.

What would you have done differently is a horrible question, I have no idea how I would have answered that. I hope they hire you, also I think hearing back THE NEXT DAY is a million times nicer than a couple of hours later. Frankly.
