I LOVE GREEN WING!

This is late because I did go out with the friends tonight. But the friend I was talking about before (who kindly ignored the fact I kept randomly calling her Catherine) told me she loved me, and I far exceeded all the maths boys friends she had in Manchester, and I was in fact the Original of them all, so it's all to the good.
So many good things! The dog was Guy's friend! Guy was slightly afraid of the dog! Mac sent the tape back to Guy via the dog! Guy found the whole thing strangely erotic! It was so yay! :D
I really enjoyed tonight's episode actually. Bit of a return to Series 1 form, I think. Punches! Slut!Angela, who likes putting her hands up women! Martin taped to the wall! Flying Sue! It was many glimpses of brilliance. I thought I might have to hate Sue White at first, since she was mercilessly picking on my two favourite characters - though Guy and Joanna joining forces, with Martin as monkey-boy, to take her out would have been fabulous too - but then she was a queen with magical powers, and the tape was in her pants, and it was beautiful.
And OMG THE GAY. Boyce following Statham around, naturally. There were some Mac/Martin scenes, which should please
jekesta. But of course my main focus was on the Guy/Mac. Their angsty fight, in which Guy helplessly tried to defend himself while his gay lover would hear none of it. At least Mac made it up to him, I suppose. And Mac wanted Guy banned from walking - clearly so he would have NO CHOICE but to keep getting lifts on Mac's motorcycle. Guy being all 'no, you're NOT clumsy in theatre' - he does respect him, I think. They kept distracting everyone with the Mac/Caroline, but it was clear where the love was. And frankly, I'm not finding awkward!Mac/Caroline any better than manipulative!Mac/Caroline. I think their relationship will be entirely dull without Guy in the middle. However, I'm finding myself quite charmed by the thought of an OT3, and eeee'd at their sneaking around together like a pack, and it's quite clear Guy's not letting go of either of them at this point, so - yay! :D
And Guy wandering around drunk begging for absolution - mon cher Guillame!!! ::hearts::
And so many things. I just love LOVE Guy. I love every scene he's in, and want to ship him with everyone, except his mother who I want to stroke his hair. Their scene in the car! Him looking so dejected! Her banging his head on the steering wheel! I want to see these tapes of him playing golf! 'I was playing your game, it's so EASY to play, "Oh, I'm mad and Scotch!"'! Him wanting to marry Caroline! Him liking Germaine Greer (sort of)! Him being wonderfully sneaky! Him and Martin being 'friends, and family'! He's a Rogue Anaesthetist. And I love him. Yay.
In conclusion: :D
ETA: Also there was Guy/Martin ('we should sleep on it'). And Sue/Angela. And Caroline/Angela ('you're the perfect girlfriend'/'she can't leave!'). And Sue/Joanna. And Mac/Martin/Boyce. And I LOVE IT ALL, EEE!
I hope Nerdcakes and Jekesta haven'tkilled each other stormed out of fandom had passionate discussions about it. But this episode was so squeeful, I can't imagine it ever doing wrong. Yay.

Date: 2006-04-15 04:48 am (UTC)If they end the series with polyamory - I will love them forever.

Date: 2006-04-15 11:25 am (UTC)I also quite like Sue/Mac! It's so unrequited. It hurts. Perhaps there will be another spanner in the works...because she married him and is apparently pregnant with his baby now.

Date: 2006-04-15 02:16 pm (UTC)I know! It's so adorably playschool! 'I think she's beautiful, and I want to MARRY HER!'. Even last series though I loved the Guy/Caroline scenes - him trying it on and her slapping him down. He makes her sharper and she makes him try harder. For all the Caroline/Mac scenes do wring the 'aww...' out of me, I find Caroline/Guy a lot more interesting. And the characters more interesting in it.
I'm still mostly all about Mac/Guy though. Sort of. OT3!
She might not be - IVF is only meant to be 25% effective, so basting yourself in your office with an acidic vagina is probably not out there in the 'success!' stakes. I think maybe she's being VERY optimistic/delusional. But you can't put it past the writers, can you?

Date: 2006-04-15 03:07 pm (UTC)The Boyce/Statham love is way too intense. It's a pretty Statham is so crazy-repulsive at the moment, because their love is way intense. Surely Boyce isn't even trying to maintain the fiction that his interest is all about tormenting his vulnerable radiology professor any more. Dude. For the third time: intense.
Sue White! Must rest her scary eyes! And flies like a bird! She's back to form as well. I still want her and Guy to have babies.
In conclusion, yay!

Date: 2006-04-15 03:26 pm (UTC)You can probably ignore the 'bitch please' part of the icon
Date: 2006-04-15 03:23 pm (UTC)I do see the Caroline/Mac. In that I see the chemistry, and they are getting the emotional reactions from me in their misunderstandings, but I just would never have picked them of all possible pairings (mostly for the lack of Guy, probably), and it's just so OVERPOWERINGLY GOING TO HAPPEN, and - maybe because there's none of the comic-and-nasty stuff? Because I like antagonistic reactions and tension and competitiony and still-being-slightly-separate-y stuff, and find that interesting in characters and relationships? It's just not my bag. But right now I'm just hoping they don't ride off into the sunset together, leaving Guy completely bereft of the two people who love him and understand him and handle him the best. Because then I'd cry.
Sue is being unreasonably cruel to Guy in her blind Maclove. So she gets no shipping. I am quite happily pairing up Guy and Caroline though. He wanted to marry her! It's so schoolboy! But sometimes I pretend it's because he is Astute, and sees it as a way to keep hold of Mac! And eee!
::dances you Green Wing::

Date: 2006-04-18 12:58 pm (UTC)OT3 to solve it all, I guess. I love GW because of it, really, it's like shipper heaven while it's still a fantastic comedy show and overall just brilliance. Ahh.
