Pretty much utterly failed at buying new clothes yesterday - ended up just getting a new pair of black H&M cord trousers to replace the old ones. It was going alright until I started trying on trousers in H&M and couldn't actually even fasten the size 14s. But then, couldn't fasten up the size 16 of one of the trousers, and managed to get into a size 12 skirt in River Island, so decided that H&M is simply stupid and mathematically challenged when it comes to sizes. Still, have decided to give up chocolate till Valentine's Day anyway, just to show stupid body who is in fact in charge. Then went into Boots and bought lovely, expensive colourful make-up, and got a voucher for Lindt truffles for only 99p! Damn you, world!

There are many pretty clothes around though, particularly in River Island. Funky and tropical-looking - dare I say Cuba-esque? Cannot decide if this is a good sign or not though - is perhaps a sign of impending Cubaness in my life, but may also be good old England trying to comfort me in my Cuba-free world by trying to make itself prettier. Time will tell. I want to buy lovely summery clothes, but it's still cold dammit!

We have a cat, also, magically. Who we don't even have to feed or clean up after! Larry, ginger tom (apparently there are no ginger girlcats) who has been wandering the neighbourhood for a while. Housemates let him in yesterday and gave him milk, and he came back last night and this morning, and we gave him more milk, and stroked him, and sat on our sofa and clawed the carpet and purred, and I just said recently I wished we had a cat, yay! We should buy him tuna and a scratching post and toys and not think about how to explain these things to our landlord yay!

Blah. Housemate Jos (who got lots of 70s in his results, growl) has his parents over for the weekend, which should be fun, but I have lots and lots of reading to do anyway, so might not see them too much. Hopefully will not see any of them in any stage of undress (like I have done lots with my other housemates :( ). Any such 'fun' will be duly reported (ie bewailed) in due course.
