Literally the only reason I am listening to anything is to work my way through my CD collection and get rid of some of them. It's some sort of vague pretence that I will ever, ever listen to the others afterwards. Even then, I can't really just sit down and listen to them - I have to be doing something else, so I'm not overfocusing on them, on the understanding that any song that is good enough will probably make me sit up and take notice. It is nice to be finding new songs and singers though - to be honest, it's nice just to be discovering the new music I was interested enough in years ago to buy a CD of it. But also I'm going to have some stuff to give to the charity shop, and I'm going to have my floorspace back. That is also an appealing draw.
